Chapter 13

We can't kill them, otherwise we'll have the whole pack to deal with...I have to find a way to get them away from him. I hear a loud thump and immediately turn towards Kiba. He had collapsed. I was pinned down by one of the guys, who was trying to get at the side of my neck. He isn't trying to kill me, he's trying to mark me! Damn pervert! I turn human long enough to knee him in the gut, and kick him off of me, then I turn wolf again. I get up, whine at the pain of some of my new wounds, and run to Kiba's side. the guys were all hudled around the perv, trying to help him up. 'Kiba?! Kiba, can you hear me?' I whine. He was unconscious, other than a few wounds he was fine, so I turn towards the others. While they're focusing on that male, I turn human, grab Kiba, and make a run for it. "They're getting away! Go after them idiots, I'm fine!" the pervy male says. "Let 'em go, they've learned their lesson." another male says. "This isn't over she-wolf!" the pervy male says. I ignore him and continue to run. Damn he's heavy... I lock my jaw, grit my teeth, and continue carrying him back to the graveyard. When I reach the start of it, I gently place Kiba onto the ground, and run to where I last saw the others. Hige was the only one there. "Hige." I say out of breath from carrying Kiba. He looks towards me and gets up immediately. "What the hell happened to you? Where's Kiba?" he asks worried. "He's unconscious but fine, I can't carry him anymore, would you mind? I could show you where he is." I say and start to lead him towards Kiba, but he grabs my shoulder. "I'll find him, you just rest here okay? You don't look so good Yuna." he says. "I'm fine, he's just too heavy for me." I say. "Either way, you stay here, I'll get him." he says and runs off. A few minutes later, he returns with Kiba on his back, still unconscious. He sets him down next to me. "What the hell happened to you two?" he asks. I roll my eyes. "A few of the members of Zali's pack decided they were going to attack Kiba, when I saw him fighting, I jumped in. That's pretty much it. Hey, where's Toboe and Tsume?" I ask looking around. "Who knows, last time I saw them was when you sent Toboe after Tsume. Oh! By the way, a she-wolf named Cole stopped by and gave us a loaf of bread." he says while he inspects Kiba's wounds. "Really? Where?" I ask looking around. "Umm...well none of you guys were here so I--" I cut him off. "You ate it, didn't you?" I ask already knowing the answer. He chuckles awkwardly. "You're an idiot." I say rolling my eyes. "What?! No I'm not! I was just hungry!" he says defensively. "Eh, doesn't matter to me, it was probably poisoned, so, the rest of us dodged a bullet!" I say and clap my hands together. "Huh?! Poisoned?!" he says frightened and starts biting his nails. "Yep! Thanks for taking one for the team Hige, nice knowing you!" I say knowing I got to him. His eyes widen in horror and his face pales. "Will you...excuse me for a second?" he asks. I try not to laugh. "Go ahead, we're all good here." I say. He puts his hand over his mouth as his face takes on a Green tint, and runs off. As soon as he's gone, I laugh so hard that my rib cage hurts. I finally stop laughing and look around. Toboe and Tsume were still missing. I knew it wouldn't do any good to search for them alone, especially after the night we've had already, but I still get up, and go looking for them. Never said I was the smartest, but I can't just sit there, and wait.

Hige's P.O.V.

After upchucking the entire loaf of bread I had eaten, I walk back. One point for Yuna, Zero for me. That she-wolf is a big pain in the backside. As soon as I got back I freeze. Yuna was gone. "Yuna! Yuna, where are you?!" I call out, but don't get an answer. Dammit! I can't even go after her with Kiba being in this shape. I'll wait until the morning, if none of them are back by then, I'll look for them myself. Kiba will just have to fend for himself. I sit next to Kiba and close my eyes. Soon, I'm asleep.

Well, they weren't back by morning, so I had no choice but to go looking for them. No luck yet? Where the hell are they? I find myself at a train station, sure enough Tsume and Toboe were there, though, they didn't realize I was there, they were too busy looking at the tracks. Tsume had his jaw locked, while Toboe's face was pale and his eyes were wide. I look towards the tracks in confusion and am shocked at the sight. Those are...humans...those dogs- no, not dogs...wolves are being used as work dogs. That load their all pulling for the humans...that's gotta weigh a ton! What the hell is going on?! Is that what Cole meant?! Good thing Kiba isn't seeing this, he'd be pissed, probably make a scene. Wait, Tsume and Toboe are here but...where's Yuna?! I look back towards the tracks at the scene infront of us. I notice the old wolf we saw back at the graveyard, collapse. Toboe gasps in horror. "We got a dead one over here!" a human calls out. Toboe gasps again. "No..." he says sadly. "Bring in the stray!" the human calls out. "You sure? That one is feral! It killed two of our men! What if it attacks the other dogs?" another human asks. Even though I didn't see her, I knew who they were talking about. I look towards Tsume. He hadn't figured it out yet, neither did Toboe. The sound of snarling  catches my attention. All I see is a White flash running towards the other wolves. Kiba.
