We followed his trail into what I think was once a city, all that was left now, was toppled over walls, alot of dirt, and machine parts. I couldn't find his scent anymore though, this place gave me a bad feeling. "Tsumeee! Tsumeee!" Toboe calls out. Nobody answers. "Tsumeee! Tsumeee!" he calls out again. We walk further into the ruins. The slight click of something catches my attention. Toboe lifts up his left leg, revealing a random button, sticking out of the ground. "What's that for?" he asks me. "Who knows, don't go wandering off, stay close to me." I tell him. "Okay." he says. "Hey! There's a ledge over there, maybe Tsume can hear us from there!" he says running off. "T-Toboe! What part of stay close, don't you understand!" I yell chasing after him. He doesn't hear me, or pretends not to, sheds his Human Illusion, and howls on the ledge. 'Come on Yuna! If we both howl, maybe he'll hear us!' Toboe says. Hearing us wasn't the problem, Tsume just didn't want to acknowledge our presence. I couldn't tell the kid that though, so I roll my eyes, shed my Human Illusion, and walk up to Toboe. 'Okay, but I don't think us howling is going to change anything, he might be too far.' I lie. 'Well we can't just give up!' He says. 'I didn't say we would, I was just making sure you understood.' I say. Without another word, Toboe howls, with me following soon after. Tsume appears out of nowhere, running towards us full speed. He was saying something, but I couldn't make it out. "Tsume! I told you he'd hear us!" Toboe says. Something was strange about Tsume's voice and movement, like he was warning us about something. Something reflected on my face, moving up to my eye. I look towards it, sheilding my eyes a bit, to lesson the blinding light. I couldn't see anything, so I squint, and that is when I see what the reflection came from. At the same time, Tsume plows into us, and the machine shoots. As we were about to fall off the ledge, a sharp pain races up and down the entire right side of my body. I bring my Human Illusion back up to hide my wound. Tsume was hit too, I smell his blood. "You okay?" I ask Tsume. "Yea, just a scratch." he lies. It was more than a scratch, a gash would be more appropriate. The wound was at the middle of his leg, a few inches above the knee. The bullet that hit him, was the same one that hit me, the way he had rammed into us, along with the way the bullet had gone, lined our wounds up perfectly. "You?" he asks. "Just a scratch. Same as you." I lie, so that the kid wasn't worried. Toboe was scared, though he tried to act brave, his eyes gave him away. "What was that thing?" Toboe asks, human again. "Automated Sentry Mech. You guys must've activated it somehow." Tsume says. "What? No we didn't! Did we?" Toboe asks. "The button. The one you stepped on, that must've been attached to that thing." I say flinching as I slowly got up. Toboe gets up, as another round of bullets fly by, startling him, and making him lose his footing. It's a chain reaction after that. He falls into me, making me lose my balance, I start to fall backwards, but Tsume stops me. His hand had caught me on my right side, making some of my blood ooze through his fingers, and start to fall down his arm. "Just a scratch huh?" he asks quietly, so only I could hear him. "You are just as bad." I mumble to him. Once I had my balance back, Tsume slowly gets up. "We have to get out of here. That thing isn't going to give up that easily." Tsume says. Toboe and I agree. "Lets go! But be quiet, I dealt with one of those when me and a bunch of others raided one of the Noble Trains." Tsume says. "So that's why the Nobles were after you back in the city." I say more to myself than them. "Yeah." he says. We went as fast as we could, Tsume leading while limping and dripping bits of blood here and there. Toboe was in the middle, unharmed. I was behind Toboe, doing my best to keep him safe and watching our backs while I attempted to staunch the bleeding on my side. Toboe tries to help Tsume, but he blows him off. "Would it kill you to let someone help you, jeesh." I say. Tsume stops all of a sudden. "Why'd we stop? what's up there? I can't tell." I say looking behind us, making sure we had enough distance between us, and the mech. It was too close. "Jump off!" Tsume says to Toboe. Did he just say jump? "But..." Toboe starts to argue. The Mech starts to target us again. I know I'm going to regret this. I turn and ram them off the edge of the broken bridge just as three bullets shoot at the ground. "Aah!" Toboe yells. The force of the ground hitting us, hit Tsume the hardest, due to where his wound was. He starts to collapse, but I quickly grab his shoulder to steady him, which results in another sharp pain racing up and down my right side. I choke back the scream that wanted to escape. We get up and run again just as another flurry of bullets rain down. The bullets just missed us as we turned a corner, to hide behind what remained of a wall. Tsume and I peak out from behind the wall, to see what the Mech would do next. It stared at us from the edge of the broken bridge for a while. "What kind of machine is that?!" Toboe asks. "How should I know?! This one isn't like the one on the train...it's smarter." Tsume says. We knew what the machine's name was but, this machine wasn't like any we'd ever seen, if seen at all. The Mech dissappears. We exhale in relief. Tsume groans in pain. "Tsume..." Toboe says worried, trailing off after he sees Tsume's wound. "This place reeks, lets get out of here." Tsume says getting up. We follow shortly after and walk away.
