My Paradise (Wolf's Rain Fan-Fic)

Chapter 69

None of us moved, my face was still buried in Tsume's back. It happened once again...I couldn't protect him...I'm...pathetic... Movement is caught out of the corner of my eye. Kiba had run off all of the sudden. 

Hub's P.O.V.

"Hey! Hey!! What the hell is going on? Where is everyone?!" I yell but something catches my attention and I stop yelling. I turn towards the man in Black who was right behind me. "Huh? It's you!" I say just as he grabs my neck. I try to struggle out of his hold but can't. "So you are simply a mere human." he says just as a snarl is heard and I'm dropped out of his hold. The White wolf stood in front of me, protecting me. 

Kiba's P.O.V.

'I know you have the stone that'll open Paradise, what are you waiting for?' I ask Darcia. "For a wolf. I've been waiting for you." he says. 'What?' I ask confused. "Soon, you will lose everything, as I have lost everything. All that you possess must be discarded before entering. That is the law of the new world." he says. I snarl. "The seal has been broken. Hurry, Paradise is right under your nose." he says before laughing and walking into the sand storm.

Yuna's P.O.V.

Cheza was petting Toboe. I didn't move, instead, I continued to look upon Toboe's lifeless form as new tears fall down my face. Tsume places his hand on my left shoulder, before pulling me to him. Soon, Tsume turns him and I away from the sight of Toboe's lifeless body. He was holding me into his chest rubbing my back gently. I held onto him tightly, my face held to his chest by him. His arms around me were strong and comforting, I felt safe. I hear movement, which made me peak over Tsume's shoulder. Cheza had risen from her sitting position. "Cheza?" I ask barely above a whisper. That's when running catches my attention, making me turn in that direction. "Pops!" Blue yells. "Toboe!" Hige yells. They both come to a stop a few inches before them. "He can't be..." Blue says and slowly walks forward. "How did this...happen?" Hige says. My eyes narrow and I leave Tsume's hold. I march up to Hige and sucker punch him, making him fall to the ground. "Ah, Yuna! What was that for?!" Hige snaps holding his jaw. "Where were you?!" I snap at him. "What?" he asks shocked. "If you hadn't run off with your girlfriend none of this would've happened! Toboe would still be alive! It's your fau--" I'm cut off by a hand covering my mouth, while another snaked around my waste pulling me back away from Hige. I struggled uselessly. "Yuna, Yuna! Stop it! It isn't Hige or Blue's fault and you know it." Tsume says next to my ear while fighting with my struggling. "It's not their fault." he says a bit quieter, finally I realize this, and stop struggling as tears build up once more. I collapse to my knees, Tsume following me down, still holding me. I sob.

Blue's P.O.V.

I fall to my knees next to Pops. His eyes were open still while his arm was around Toboe's Lifeless body. Poor Toboe... Pops looks at me but I could tell he didn't have long. "Don't go..." I say quietly. Even as I said that, he slipped away. Tears fall down my face as I hang my head low. Pops...why did you have to leave me... 

Hub's P.O.V.

Is that..? Oh no... The White wolf and I run up to the scene before us. "Please no..." I say as I stop, while staring wide eyed at the two bodies. I walk towards them again, before collapsing before the old man. "No...please, why..." I say before sobbing on my hands and knees. 

Kiba's P.O.V.

I squat in front of Toboe's head, reaching out my hand, I begin to pet him slowly. "Toboe..." I say before looking around me. Tsume held Yuna, her face hidden by her long Black hair, her body shaking. Tears fell to the snowy ground underneath her. Hige was standing, watching Blue sadly as she sobbed for her dead master. The last human male still was on his hands and knees sobbing. Cheza had her back to the two lifeless bodies, tears at the corners of her eyes. I turn wolf and howl sadly.

Yuna's P.O.V.

The sound of howling catches my attention, making me look up. Kiba was wolf, howling up at the sky with sadness. Tsume's arms fall from me. I look towards him, while he looked at me, and nodded. He knew what I wanted to do. With that, I turn wolf, and howl with all my might. Tsume follows, then Hige, and Blue. Cheza sings her lullaby. Before we knew it, the sky was dark, while the Blood Moon was high in the sky, clouds slowly slid by it. We all had been silent for a while now, lost in our own thoughts. "We have to keep moving. He's still out there searching for Paradise. But it's our Paradise he wants to open." Kiba finally speaks. "It doesn't make sense...if he can open Paradise, why doesn't he open the one for the Nobles?" Hige says. "The Tree of Old Seeds is there. On the horizon. It told This One where it is." Cheza speaks. "We have to find it before he does. There's no time, we have to go." Kiba says. "So, what's your plan Porky?" Tsume asks all of the sudden. His back was turned away from everyone. I was the only one that saw his face, since I was facing him. "After coming all this way, what are you going to do?" Tsume asks. "Where are you going to run to this time?" Tsume says glancing over his shoulder at Hige. "I'm not running. I just figured you guys didn't need me anymore. I guess, you never did." Hige says. Blue looks to him. "None of us is any more vital than the other Hige. Nothing is indispensable. Not anymore." Kiba says. "Except for you. Our Paradise can't be opened, unless you're there. You're the only one of us, who can go all the way. Even Tsume must realize this by now." Hige says. Blue stands. "I don't care, I'm still going. Even if I'm turned away at the gates to Paradise, I'll keep going for as long as I can, and so will you. We made a pact to stay together." she says and looks to Hige. Hige looks away. "Stop making excuses! I know you want to go!" Blue yells at him, which makes his eyes widen, and look to her. "Blue..?" Hige says shocked. Just then, a loud crack is heard, which shakes the ground. Kiba grabs hold of Cheza, sheltering her. "It's starting to fall apart, even this close to center." Kiba says. I may not make it out alive but...I'm not going down without a fight. With that thought, I stand, but don't go to them. "He's right. We'd better get moving. You won't have to worry about me, when I start to slow you down," Hub says and checks the pistol he took out of the old man's hand, before loading the gun. "I'll take care of it myself. Come on, I wanna see how far I can go too." Hub says and looks to us. I realize I'm the only one that was standing, Tsume still sat with his back turned to the others. They all were looking towards us, I look back to Tsume. "Go on ahead." Tsume says. "I'll catch up, I want to talk to the Runt for a while..." Tsume says. Their eyes widen before they look to me. I look to them again and nod. They all nod before starting to leave. "Hige." I call. Hige and Blue stop and turn to me. "I'm...sorry...about your face...I wasn't thinking clearly..." I say. "Don't worry about it, I deserved it." Hige says. "No, you didn't." I say and narrow my eyes sadly. "You didn't deserve any of that. I'm not asking for forgiveness, I just want to say I'm sorry." I say. Hige's eyes widen a bit before going back to normal. "Thanks Yuna." he says with a small smile. I nod and watch as they all disappear into the horizon, before turning to Tsume, walking next to him, and sitting.
