Chapter 46-3

Yuna's P.O.V.

"Toboe no!" I hear Hige yell before we are taken under. Toboe is too shocked to swim up to the surface, I recover from mine quickly, grab Toboe's arm, and pull him to the surface with me. We break the surface with a gasp. Hige is there. "Get out of the water!" Hige yells. I nod and pull Toboe with me to the edge of the ice. I let him get pulled up first, then climb up myself. The thing bursts through the edge of the ice, throwing the three of us forward. Hige and I whip around to see the thing, now known as the largest walrus we've ever seen, looking down at us. It's tusks were huge, probably the size of two Toboes combined. It's eyes set on Toboe and I snarl at it in warning as my wolf, same as Hige, and Toboe. 'Toboe, stay behind us.' I say. 'N-No I can fi--' I cut him off. 'Toboe.' I say strictly. He whines but stays behind us. One of the walrus' eyes was closed and scarred over. It roars loudly at us and soon, I heard 2 sets of paws hitting the ground, coming towards us, before both Tsume and Kiba launch at the walrus. Both are slapped off of it, Kiba is slammed into a thing of ice, Tsume slams to the ground. 'Tsume!' I bark and run over to him. 'I'm alright.' He barks back and starts to get up, I try to help him, but notice the walrus turning towards Kiba. The walrus turns toward him, and launches with his tusks at the ready. Kiba tries to stop it, but the walrus's tusk, pierces into his upper leg. Kiba howls in pain. 'Damn you!' I snarl and launch at it. "Bastard!" Tsume growls and follows me. "Kiba!" Hige yells and soon follows us. I jump onto it's back, sinking both claws and teeth into it's flesh. Earning me a howl of pain from it, before it tries to shake me off. Tsume and Hige are there soon after, biting and clawing it with me. Tsume grabs a hold of it's flipper, Hige tries to get a good hold on the head. Tsume is being flailed around by the flipper he held onto, Hige locks his jaw and starts shaking the walrus' skin between his jaws. Kiba struggles to get the tusk out of his leg, though it doesn't budge, it only causes him more pain.

Toboe's P.O.V.

I watch as the others continue to attack the walrus. H-How can they fight that thing? Why aren't they scared?! 'Let...him...go!' Yuna snarls at the walrus, struggling to keep a good hold on it. From where I was, I could see that even though they all attacked, they were shaking. A-Are they scared? No...they couldn't be, I mean if they are scared, why do they continue to attack? They all attacked when Kiba was hurt...maybe, even though their fear is strong, the urge to protect is stronger...I wanna protect Kiba too...I-I have to help them! My body shakes as I start to get up. I-I am scared, but I can't just sit here while they risk their lives! As soon as I'm up, I find myself as a wolf, snarling as I run towards the walrus, launching at it's one good eye, and locking my jaw on it. The walrus lets out a loud roar of pain, snatches it's tusk out of Kiba's leg, flails around, and falls backwards. "Toboe! Don't do it!" I hear Kiba call, but for some reason, I ignore him, and continue to snarl, refusing to let go of it. My heart was beating rapidly, but I felt no fear, as all four of us; Yuna, Tsume, Hige, and I fall through the ice, along with the walrus. The water was freezing but I still refused to let go, I hang on with all my strength.

Tsume's P.O.V.

Hige and I float up to the surface, shocked from the cold. Our heads burst through the water's surface, and we both gasp for air. Kiba limp/runs to the edge. "Are you alright?!" he asks us. "Yeah." I say and look around. "Where's Yuna and Toboe?" I ask looking around more. We hear a crash somewhere from behind us and look. Toboe still had a hold of the walrus' eye, while the walrus swam at top speed through the water, still trying to get him off. Yuna still held on to the walrus' back like her life depended on it, but I could tell she was getting tired, but I knew I couldn't tell her to let go. Not like she'll listen to me anyhow, she never does. Damn stubborn woman. The walrus slams through chunks of ice, but neither Toboe, nor Yuna would let go, even as the ice slammed into them. The walrus slams into a small glacier, but they still didn't let go. Then the three of them were gone again.

Toboe's P.O.V.

After slamming into the glacier, the walrus takes us under the water again. It swims to the bottom of the ocean and slams us to the sand covered ground, making sure to grind us into the bottom. That's when Yuna is unable to hold on, and slowly floats upward. I-Is she alright? She's not moving... Something seems to jolt her awake, just as the walrus starts moving again, and knowing she couldn't grab on, she begins swimming towards the surface. I still was unable to let go of the eye, but I watch her until I could no longer see her.

Tsume's P.O.V.

"I can't see anything, can you?" Hige asks. "Nothing. Not even an air bubble." Kiba says. I growl and shake my head. Where the hell are they?! We were back on the ice. Out of the corner of my eye, I see movement, and quickly look towards it. Black hair. "Yuna!" I yell and start running.

Yuna's P.O.V.

I burst through the water's surface with a bunch of coughing, which lets more water into my mouth then there already was, and sends me into a serious coughing fit. "Yuna!" I hear someone call to me before I heard running. "Tsu-" I can't finish, due to more coughing. The feel of someone grabbing a hold of my arms, and snatching me from the water, comes soon after. I'm let go after being pulled into more coughing as the feel of solid ground comes. Due to the way I was pulled out of the water, I was now on my hands and knees, emptying the remaining water from my lungs. The same hands now patted my back, in an attempt of helping. I cough a bit more before I am able to breath. My throat stung and felt scratchy. "Tsume..." I say and cough, more from the scratchiness of my throat, rather than more water. My stomach burned from all the coughing, while my eyes burned from the salt water. "I'm right here." he says and helps me raise to just my knees. I look towards him. "Toboe...the walrus, are the--" I am cut off by more coughing. "Take it easy Yuna, just focus on breathing right now alright? Hige and Kiba will let us know when they see them. Just then, something crashes through more ice. We turn quickly, watching as the Walrus and Toboe fly through the air, into another glacier, before falling into the water yet again. "Toboe!" I yell and am thrown into more coughing. "Yuna! What did I just tell you?" Tsume says and pulls me to him, trying to soothe me through the coughing. "Calm down. Focus on breathing." he says. I reluctantly do what I'm told and take a few deep breaths in, while inhaling his scent, which helps to soothe me. Once I can breath normally, he lets me go, and we run towards the others.
