Chapter 61

Blue's P.O.V.

Pops left the town shortly after the keep fell, out of habit, I had followed him. Finally, after some time, he stops. I do too. "How long are you gonna keep following me?" he asks, not looking my way what-so-ever. "You and I both know there's no reason for you to be with me anymore." he says. "Come on Pops, lets go back to the city, the guys are waiting for us, it's not too late, I'm sure we could find them." I say. He groans in pain before falling to his knees. I immediately run up to him. "I'm okay, I guess I'm just a little hungry, that's all. Let me ask you something Blue, all the time that we were together, have you always hated me?" he asks. My eyes widen in shock. "Hated you? Why?" I ask confused. "You mean you've forgiven me? For despising wolves and trying to kill every last one of them? I can't believe that." he says still not looking towards me. Wind blows the dirt around our feet, and finally settles a couple seconds later. "When I was with you...I never knew there was any wolf in me. But then I saw Cheza, and the other wolves. It was only after meeting them, that I finally realized. If I had any idea that I could actually talk to you like this...I only wish I could've done it sooner." I say. we both are silent for a while, before I hear an engine of a car not too far away. I immediately run down the small hill to stand a few yards in front of the car. I raise my arms outward. "Please stop! We need your help!" I yell to them, but they don't stop, and before I knew it, I'm pushed out of the way, and the car keeps going after hitting something. After the dust clears, I see Pops laying on the ground unconscious. My eyes widen in fear and I run to him. "Pops wake up! Pops!" I yell and shake him, but he doesn't answer.

Hige's P.O.V.

I stop and look around. "Hige, what is it?" Kiba asks. He still supported me. "Forget it, I guess it was nothing." I say and turn back in the direction we were going, and we all start walking again.

Yuna's P.O.V.

The sound of distant explosions find my ears as we walked. I stood behind Kiba and Hige; who were the last ones; to cover their backs. We all stopped and looked forward, seeing small White streaks falling from the sky, and hitting the ground somewhere in the horizon. "What the..." I say and trail off. "I got a bad feeling." Tsume says. You're not the only one... 

Cher's P.O.V.

Hub and I huddled together as we walked, gripping a cloak around the two of us as the crisp wind picked up. "I can't believe I've actually got the chance to take a walk with you in my arms again." Hub says. I scoff. "After what's happened, how can you be so nonchalant?" I ask. "Well at times like this, it's always good to think of the little things that make you happy." he says with a smile. I laugh amused. "How forward thinking of you." I say. "Well why not? There's nothing behind us anymore." he says and stops. "Huh? A car? I'll go take a look." he says and lets the cloak go before running ahead. The cloak flies away. "Hub!" I say and run after him. "Hey! Hello! Is anybody there?" he yells ahead of us as he runs towards the car. We stop as soon as we see the three men laying dead on the ground, blood covering them. They all held or were surrounded by a few dollars, and one had a pearl necklace. "Guess they had a falling out huh? Cher, go see what's in the back." Hub says. I nod and run to the back of the car. I open the trunk. My eyes widen slightly before I close the trunk and walk to the passenger side door. "Sorry no luck, there's nothing back there we can use." I say and close the door behind me as I sit down. "Well there's hardly any fuel left either. At least we can keep moving for the meantime...but to where?" he says. "Hm?" I ask. "There's nothing left for us now, where are the two of us suppose to go Cher?" he asks. I had no answer to that.

Hige's P.O.V.

"That's Blue's scent, I'd know it anywhere!" I say sniffing the air and breaking away from Kiba. I walked a few feet away before falling to my knees. Toboe and Yuna run up to me. "Hige!" Toboe says before running up to me. "Yuck, what a stink, this is Human Blood." I say inspecting a small thing of blood mixed with dirt. "Wait a sec, this is blood from that old man!" Toboe says. "Maybe they're out here together. Him and Blue." Tsume says. "Tsume!" Yuna scolds while Toboe and I look at him. "I had a feeling she would go crawling back to her Master someday, in the long run, she's probably better off." he says, completely ignoring Yuna and her glare. "That's not for you to decide!" I yell at him. "That girl is nothing more than a half-breed." Tsume says. My eyes widen before narrowing in anger. "Do you honestly think she can make it to Paradise with the rest of us?" Tsume asks. "Drop it." Kiba says to him. "Are we going to keep wasting time with all these damn distractions?" Tsume asks. None of us answer. He walks off. I grit my teeth. "Oh, so it's okay for you to chase around Yuna all the time, but as soon as anyone else tries to chase after someone you immediately throw a tantrum?! You're the only one aloud to be happy is that it?!" I yell after him, clenching my hands into fists and glaring at his back. I see Yuna flinch out of the corner of my eye, I feel a twinge of guilt but push it away. Tsume stops, glances towards the rest of us, turns his head forward again, and continues to walk off. After a few seconds of silence, Kiba turns to Yuna. "Yuna." Kiba says, getting her attention. She looks towards him. "Yes?" she asks quietly, not exactly looking straight at anyone. "Would you talk to him please?" he asks. This catches her full attention and she looks up at Kiba with wide eyes. "What? Why me?!" she says louder than she needed to. Kiba sighs annoyed. "Look I don't exactly know what's going on between you two but that needs to stop. Whatever it is that happened between you two, it's making him more arrogant than usual. I can't chance him running away like he always does when things don't go his way, especially not when he has Cheza." Kiba says. Yuna goes to argue but stops herself. "Ugh! Fine." she says and stomps off in his direction. "Kiba, what're we going to do?" Toboe asks. "Rest for a few minutes, until they come back." he says.
