Chapter 54

Yuna's P.O.V.

I pace back and forth inside the cage. We have to get out of here. "Tsume, do you think we can break out of this cage?" I ask. "The metal looks too thick." he says and sighs. I growl. "Dammit!" I say and kick the cage in frustration. It makes a loud bang, before echoing in the deathly quiet room. The doors on both sides of the room open and reveal many soldiers in Black armor. Tsume and I turn wolf, and go back to back, him looking towards the group of soldiers in front, while I looked at the group of soldiers in the back. "Look at what we have here boys, two of 'em." one soldier says, he was on my side. I snarl at him when he gets too close. "Whoo, this one looks pissed. Got some fire in you, don't you?" The soldier says and chuckles. "You know, the fur on this one matches the description of that escaped she-wolf on the poster we saw." he says looking to the soldier on the right. "The fighting arena one from Free City?" the other soldier asks. My eyes widen, before narrowing, and letting out a snarl."Yeah." the main soldier says. The soldier on the right looks closer. "Yeah, you're right. Want me to contact the owner?" he asks. My eyes widen in shock. They wouldn't... As I go over the possibility of being thrown back in the arena, an angry growl comes from behind me, making me turn in that direction, to see Tsume facing towards the two soldiers as he walked in front of me, and blocked me from their view. The main soldier chuckles. "Seems the Grey one doesn't like that idea boys." the Soldier says mocking Tsume. The others laugh. "Look how he's blocking the Black one from view, how cute." one soldier says. "Awe, you like the she-wolf don't you." another one says in a baby voice and sticks his hand into our cage like an idiot. Before the soldier could react, Tsume lunges at his hand, and sinks his teeth in the man's wrist, locking his jaw, and shaking violently. The soldier screams in pain, trying to rip away his hand, but doesn't succeed, just makes Tsume's teeth sink deeper and deeper into his wrist, until it separates from the man's arm. The man falls backwards holding his now hand-free arm to his chest, screaming in pain, stomping his feet on the ground repeatedly. Tsume throws the man's hand out the side of the cage with a snarl. The soldiers all crowd around the idiot. Some calling him an idiot, others asking if he's okay. I look at Tsume and nudge his fur covered cheek with my snout. He looks back at me. 'Nicely done.' I say as my tail wags a couple times. Tsume makes a sound almost like a chuckle before turning his head back to the soldiers. A few men take the injured soldier away, while the rest turn back to us, and shooting their High-Powered Air guns at us. Everything goes Black after that.

Tsume's P.O.V.

When I regain consciousness, I find myself in another room filled with cages on either side in another cage. Yuna is nowhere to be seen. "Yuna?" I call out. She better be in another cage in here. No answer. I sniff the air for her scent, but come up blank. Dammit! I growl and look at the bars of the cage. They were thinner than the other one. I have to get out of here. Screw Kiba and the others, I have to find her. With that thought, I begin slamming my body into the bars repeatedly. "Stop that." a woman's voice calls from across the room, in another cage. "You're hurting yourself for no reason." the old woman says. I growl lowly and clench my hands into fists. "They all tried to get out that way, but it was useless." she says. I set my jaw. "Who's they?" I ask. "They captured my entire pack and brought us to this place. There were many others who were caught too. The only wolf they spared, was the one wearing the collar." the old she-wolf says. "What did you say?" I ask with wide eyes, remembering all the wolves in that room. "That bastard...betrayed every one of us." she says. My eyes widen.

Hige's P.O.V.

I ran through the streets. "Hige!" Blue calls out running towards me. "Don't follow me!" I yell and stop. Blue does too. I start laughing humorously. "Hige?" she asks confused, right before a wave of pain shoots into my head, making me fall to the ground unconscious.

Blue's P.O.V.

I run over to Hige. "Hige! What's going on? Please, what happened to you?!" I ask shaking him. He doesn't answer. "Hey! Come on! Quit playing around!" I say and stop shaking him. What's happening to him? I continue to look at him, before shaking him again. "You have to get up! Toboe needs our help! Hige!" I yell at him. He still doesn't answer. The thought of him being dead crosses my mind, making my eyes widen in fear. "No..." I trail off as I grab him and pull him to me. "Come on...you have to wake up! Don't do this! Don't you die on me! You can't!" I yell and bury my head in his shoulder, shaking as tears fell down my face. "Please don't leave me..." I say and cry. The sound of Hige grunting makes my head snap up. His eyes were open slightly. "Hige..." I say. His eyes open more and he smiles. "Hey Blue...do me a favor will you? My collar..." he says trailing off. "You're what?" I ask. "Would you take this collar off of me?" he asks. I look at the collar around his neck.

Tsume's P.O.V.

"My pack was relatively small. But we managed alright. Everyone looked out for one another, whenever we came upon a stray, we'd tried to make them feel like they were one of our own. So, naturally, when He came along, we took him in without a second thought. We shared our food, our beds, everything..." The she-wolf says and trails off. "We should've known...soon after, we started getting attacked by soldiers without warning. No matter how hard we hid, no matter how far we ran, no matter what, they'd always find us. When we came here, we finally figured it out. We knew then...that is was all because of Him." she says.

Blue's P.O.V.

I pulled and yanked with all my might, trying to break off his collar, but the material was too tough. I have to stop to catch my breath. "It's okay...just forget about it." Hige says giving up. "No way! If this stupid thing is what's been hurting you, I have to get it off!" I say and go to try again, but his hand being placed against my cheek stops me. "You know what? You're a great woman." he says. "Don't start talking crazy on me now!" I say. "I've been so blind...It's funny, there's so much I never understood, but now, it all makes sense." he says. "Hige..." I trail off. "My memories weren't real. None of them. Everything was just a lie." he says squeezing his eyes shut.
