Yuna's P.O.V.
"Why do I have to chase after him? It hasn't worked any other time, what makes this time any different." I mumble and complain under my breath as I follow him. He wasn't that far away, so he wasn't running away just yet. I sigh. "Tsume! Will you quit walking away? I know you know I'm here, plus, Kiba thinks you're abducting Cheza." I call after him annoyed. He scoffs. "Of course he does.." I hear him say under his breath. He stops and places Cheza against a boulder, before starting to walk off again. "Wha-? Hey! Are you a dumb a** or something?! You can't just leave her here by herself!" I say baffled at his stupidity. He scoffs and covers his forehead with his hand before turning to me. "My god Yuna I'm not leaving her by herself, you're there aren't you?" he says with a growl before waving me off. "My arms got tired, sue me." he says with his back to me. "Well you should've said something sooner, I would've carried her." I say absentmindedly. "What are you waiting for, take her back to Kiba." he says. "So what? You can run off while I'm gone? I don't think so buddy, no I'm sticking to you like glue." I say placing a hand on my hip. He sighs annoyed and starts to take a step away. "W-Wait where are you going?!" I yell towards him, reaching out my arm even though there was no way I could reach him. "What do you want from me Yuna?" he asks, stopping, and turning towards me. "Huh?" I'm taken back by his question. "What. Do. You. Want. From. Me? You're going to have to tell me because I can't figure it out." he says. "I-I don't understand." I say averting my eyes. "Yes you do. Don't play dumb with me." he says. What I...want from him..? I don't want anything from him... I glance back at him and quickly look away again. "Well...what do you want from me?" I ask. "What I want? What I want is you and for you to want he same." he says. My eyes widen. "What are you talking about Tsume? You have me, how many times do I have to say it?" I ask. "No I don't. They do. She does. Everyone has you but me. Especially that kid, hell he has you more than any of us combined!" he says. I flinch. "That's not true..." I say trailing off. He doesn't understand...I know where he plans on going with this but it's not true! "Yes it is, and the worst part is, you don't even see it. Yuna, you lo--" I cut him off. "Y-You're wrong!" I yell at the top of my lungs before covering my ears. His eyes widen. I was shaking. "Am I?" he asks calmer. "Yes you are. I know what you were about to say, I know what you're thinking, and I'm telling you that you have it all wrong. Yes I admit I give Toboe a lot of attention, and yes there is a reason for that, but that's not what you think it is." I say. "Then why? What's the reason?" he asks. I go to say something, but stop, not wanting to say more. I can't tell him...he'll think I'm a traitor too... "Look it doesn't matter why I do, but I'm telling you, you have it all wrong. Besides, we're getting way off track here, let's go back to the others." I say. "I'm not going anywhere." he says. "What?" I ask shocked. "You heard me. I'm not going anywhere until you tell me why." he says crossing his arms over his chest. "Even if I tell you, what's going to stop you from up and leaving?" I ask. "If you tell me the truth, I won't leave. Simple as that." he says. "If I tell you the truth? That's bullsh*t." I say. "How so?" he asks. "How is it okay if I was to tell you the truth, but when Hige told us the truth, you completely shut him out?" I ask. "That's different!" he says. "No it isn't, not really." I say. "What's that suppose to mean?" he asks. I sigh. There's really no getting around this is there? I sigh again. "The reason I give him so much attention is because he reminds me of someone...my younger brother to be exact." I say glancing at him quickly. "Younger Brother?" he asks. I sigh. "Remember when you guys asked about my pack?" I ask. He nods. "Well, I wasn't chased out, or anything like you guys. My pack died in a forest fire. Made from humans. The fire killed my brother instantly, he was a few months younger than myself. It was my fault the fire had been set...anyhow, Toboe looks just like him, and that's why I care so much for him. Nothing more than that. Now can we go back to the others please. They're probably worried." I say. "What do you mean it was your fault the fire had been set?" he asks. I sigh. "Don't...hate me for this...alright?" I ask. His brows furrow in confusion. "I would always venture away from our forest and den, to a clearing not far from it. There was a human couple with two girls around six or seven who lived in a cabin in that clearing. I was friends with the girls. I was obviously in my human form when I visited them. One of their girls decided to venture into the woods to look for me, now, my pack and I weren't the only ones who lived in that forest. So when the kid was walking, and calling for me, she attracted the attention of a mountain lion. I heard her scream and ran to help her, but when I got there, I was too late. The girl was mauled to death. That mountain lion was about to eat her when I attacked it. We fought and fought until it ran off. I went back to the girl and tried to wake her up, hoping she wasn't completely dead. That's when her father showed up. I hadn't heard him so I was still in wolf form, and my snout was covered in her blood, of course he hadn't seen the wounds the lion had left on me, all he saw was a wolf, covered in blood. Generally, he thought I had killed her. He chased me off and that night, the fire came. It was my own stupidity that killed my pack and brother." I say feeling the familiar guilt creep up on me. I couldn't look Tsume in the eye, so I looked everywhere except for his direction. Tsume was silent. I felt someone grab my hand, and I look towards them. Cheza had my hand in hers, tears were built up inside of her eyes, they hadn't fallen yet. "Cheza?" I ask. She gives me a sad smile. "This one doesn't blame you at all." she says weakly. I fake a smile. "Thanks Cheza..." I say. "I agree with Cheza for once. It wasn't your fault. It was the girl's. She should've known better than to go out in the woods alone. The father is to blame just as much. He only saw what he wanted to see, and jumped to conclusions." Tsume says. "Yea, but it was my fault that I tried to be friends with a human. My mother and pack always warned me about the dangers of humans, and what they're capable of. I didn't listen to them, and now they're dead." I say. "Yuna, you mustn't blame yourself for that, This One refuses to let you." Cheza says. I laugh as a tear falls down my cheek. "Then I better stop then huh?" I tease. She nods and smiles. Tsume picks her up again. "Let's go." Tsume says. "Where?" I ask. "To Porky and the others. Wouldn't want them to think you and I both abducted Cheza now would we?" he asks with a small smirk. "No, we wouldn't." I say and walk to his side before we walk back to the others.
