Hige's P.O.V.
Blue had told me her whole family except the old man, had been killed, while we had walked. We stopped after a while, at a bridge in town, and leaned against it. "So, how come those guys were chasing you anyways?" I ask. "I thought that I should work you know?" Blue says. "Work? I've never given it much thought." I say. "That's how it's suppose to be huh? But it's hard to let go of, when it's all you've ever known. For my entire life, I've been at Pops' side. Always wanted to be useful to him somehow if I could. I'll bet from your point of view, choosing to live that way, must sound like complete nonsense. But the thing is, I was always happy being that way. If nothing had happened, I could have stayed happy forever." she says looking sad after remembering something. "I don't know what happened...or if it really was wolves who killed everyone...but even so, that's what Pops believes." she says. "Man, and just because of that, he hates all wolves?" I ask. "If I had stayed ignorant like I was, I would have been able to stay at Pops' side forever. If I had never met that girl, I could've kept on living like I always had been. If I hadn't have learned there was some wolf in me." she says. "So what are you going to do now? You wanna go back to that guy?" I ask. "I can't go back, if I did, I'd have to hunt you guys down again." she says. "Sounds nice, I wouldn't mind being hunted down by a girl. I'm usually the one who does all the chasing. But somehow they always manage to get away, or already are taken, or they're chasing someone else. Whenever I get in the mood, I always have to take a leak. Kinda like right now." I admit and look at her. "Well go somewhere and do it, that's disgusting." she says. "I'll hold it, it looks like you're ready to run." I say. She starts laughing. "You're nice...gross, but nice." she says. "Yeah, I get that all the time." I say and chuckle. "Hey, why don't you come with me?" she asks. "Where to?" I ask. "Doesn't matter now, does it?" she asks. "Sounds tempting. Huh? What the hell are you doing here?!" I ask after catching a whiff of Toboe's scent. He hides behind a pillar on the bridge. "Uh...hi, just happened to be passing by." he says and chuckles awkwardly as he walks towards us. A loud echo of a gunshot catches all of our attention, it came from where we saw the others last. "Damn!" I say and start to run. "Hige!" Toboe calls after me but I ignore him and jump off the side of the bridge. Toboe follows and Blue looks down at us from the bridge. "Hey, what are you doing? We gotta go!" I call to her. She finally jumps off as well, landing next to me.
Yuna's P.O.V.
The guys from earlier had cornered us in the ruins we were at. Tsume had put me behind him once again as he growled at the men. Kiba was at Tsume's side, glaring at them. "Well looky here, we found us some wolves." the lead guy says as he loads his double-barrel shotgun. "Jagara's people will pay us a small fortune for you." the man says. Jagara? "Jagara?" Tsume asks. The guy simply points the gun at Tsume and fires.
Hige's P.O.V.
"They're gone." I say looking around the ruins. Toboe gasps. "Looks like someone was shot!" he speaks before another shot echoes through the air.
Yuna's P.O.V.
Damn them! I grit my teeth as I ran behind Tsume, who groans, grabs his injured arm, and starts to lose balance. I run to his side and steady him. Kiba stops and looks towards us."Are you okay?" Kiba asks. "Don't worry, the bullet only grazed my arm." Tsume says. Kiba looks at me for confirmation. "He'll be fine, come on, we have to move quickly." I say. Kiba nods and Tsume glances at me. I give a small smile, which he returns, sort of, it was a mix between a smile and a grimace, but I accept it. Another shot came from behind us, though the men were still a bit behind. Kiba was running in front of us, but it was hard for Tsume to keep up, considering he had lost alot of blood, so I stayed behind him, to protect his back just in case the men caught up. When he had been shot, some of the blood splattered on my face. I felt it, though couldn't wipe it off due to focusing on running. "What's the matter?" a woman's voice catches our attention. We look towards an old woman who was looking at us kindly. "Have you kids been hurt? Are you alright?" the woman asks just before a gun is loaded. The old woman looks to the camper we were near. An old man was at the door with another shotgun, pointing it at us. I step in front of Tsume and glare at the man. "Almira, you come over here now." the old man says. Kiba steps forward. "We have no intention of hurting either one of you." Kiba says. "Oh for heaven's sake dear, put the gun down, they're only children." Almira says. "Don't be stupid, they're strays and they're dangerous!" the man says. "What're you talking about, have you lost your senses?" Almira asks. "Almira, I may be an old man but I am not going senile. Take a close look at those three!" the old man says. He knows we're wolves. Footsteps approach from behind and I whip around as fast as I could, ready to fight. Hige, Toboe, and the dog were running towards us. I relax slightly. Hige stops immediately. "Oh crap!" he says after seeing the gun. The old man looks towards them quickly and aims at them. The dog runs towards the man in wolf form, dodges a bullet, and sits down right in front of him cutely. His eyes widen in shock. I simply roll my eyes and scoff. "We are not going to do anything to you. So just leave us alone." Kiba says. The old man didn't hear him, he simply continued to stare at the dog. "I don't want to fight if there's no reason to. I don't wanna kill." Kiba says. I hear the voices of the men chasing us, closer than I liked. I hold back a growl, so I don't scare the couple. "Those people want to capture us and sell us to the highest bidder, it's up to you whether we can avoid blood shed." Tsume says. The man gives up, puts his gun away, and ushers us into the camper. Toboe and Hige stay outside to make the plan we all formed work. While they did that, Kiba inspected Tsume's wound without any progress, Tsume kept his arm out of Kiba's reach. I told Kiba it wouldn't happen but he tried anyway. I roll my eyes and peer out the camper's window. The three men ran up to the folks and widened their eyes as the old man shot at the ground near Toboe and Hige, who lay on the ground pretending to be dead. The old man was making enough smoke to hide the fact that they actually were alive. "Die you damn wolves! Die!" the old man yelled. "Did you kill them?!" the lead guy asks. The man stops and peers towards him. He acted all deranged as the woman Almira fakes trying to stop him. "That's enough!" she screams. "They cast a spell on me! I was only-" the woman stops him again. "Stop! Just stop it! It's safe now!" she screams as the old man continues to try to speak. "Let go of me woman!" the old man yells. "Dammit!" the lead guy says. "Those things are worthless if they're dead." the lead guy says. They stomp away and we walk outside. The people give us food, which I thank them kindly for, before grabbing some of it, and walking over to Tsume, who stood off to the side. I reach my hand out to give him his share of meat, which he was too stubborn to get himself. He looks at my hand with the meat, to my face, back to the meat, and back to me. "Either you take this, or I'll shove it down your throat. You're choice." I say. He scoffs and snatches it out of my hand. "That's a good boy! I'm so proud of you!" I say in a baby voice most humans use when they talk to dogs. He glares at me. I wink at him, smirk, and bite into my piece of meat. "You'll have to forgive my husband, he thought you were wolves, of all things." Almira says. How she couldn't tell we were wolves, especially after what just happened was beyond us, but we stayed silent. "He's starting to get more and more confused lately. That's why we came out here in this little jaunt. Let's spend what little time we have left on the road he said. So now, this trailer is our home. As well as our coffin..." she says trailing off. We all look to her. "We've seen such horrible things...that castle of the Darcias to the west of here must have been beautiful once, it's now nothing but a giant grave." she says. "The castle of the Darcias." Kiba says to himself. "It's as if this world is giving up it's desire to live..." she says sadly. "No it hasn't. The old man isn't confused at all. He's right, we are wolves." Kiba says. "You ready to go?" Hige asks Toboe. He nods and smiles. I smile and look to Tsume, who looks to me with a small smile. The dog turns human. "Goodbye mister, take care." she says and turns to walk over to Hige. "Where are you going to go?" the old man asks. "To the castle in the west." Kiba says. We turn to each other, and run off, leaving the humans.
