My Paradise (Wolf's Rain Fan-Fic)

Chapter 3

After I left them, I set out to find shelter for the night. Right when I find it, the sound of howling reaches my ears. Before I realized what I was doing, I was running towards the howling. What kind of idiot howls knowing humans hate us wolves? As I get closer, I notice the Brown fur, second thing I noticed was a girl about his age, wide eyed, and holding a dead falcon in her hands. He didn't...sh*t. Tsume is the first to get to Toboe, he ran at him, grabbing him by his haunch, making him yelp, but doesn't stop running at all. I stop at the girl. I was human so I didn't alarm her at the moment. I said nothing just stared at her. "H-He's a w-wolf." she says. "Yep, now run along little human, nothing to see here." I say and run after Tsume and Toboe. After I reach them, I stop running. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" I hear Tsume ask angrilly. 'I just...I just wanted to play with the bird...I didn't mean too...' Toboe trails off, tears streamed down his face. "Toboe, incase you haven't noticed yet, you're a wolf. Not a human. You can't play with a bird." I add though, I wasn't angry like Mr. Hothead next to me. 'B-But I was in human form, I-I had hands.' He says. I shake my head. "Hands immediately become claws and fangs, we're not able to turn fully human kid. The only time we can actually use the Human part, is with eachother, and others our kind. Other than that, we can only use it to blend in and hide from Hunters." I say. 'Oh...' he trails off again. "How can you not know that?! Are you an idiot?!" Tsume blurts out angrilly. "Tsume! He's just a kid, he probably didn't have anyone to explain to him." I say coming to Toboe's defense. Why? I have no idea, but I do it anyways. "Stay out of this! It's common sense!" Tsume says turning his anger on me. "I don't have to listen to you, I do as I please. Just because it's common sense to you and me, doesn't make it common sense to him!" I say getting in his face. He was fumming, so was I. I didn't take kindly to orders. "Look at him, he has the personality of a domesticated animal, which means he was someone's pet, which means he wasn't raised by his parents. He probably recently lost his caretaker, those silver bracelets around his front paw obviously aren't his." I say pointing them out. This seems to get through to him, because his anger calmed a bit. He didn't say anything more and walked to the windowsill. He just stares out of the window. I turn back to Toboe. 'How'd you know all that?' Toboe asks. "I notice alot of things others don't. I've always been able to." I say. 'Really? That's like me with my hearing!' he says wagging his tail like a puppy. A small smile fights to appear, but I don't let it.  "Get some rest kid." I say and sit down. 'Okay.' he says and cuddles up to me, resting his head on my lap. I stiffen but resist the urge to push him away. Tsume finds a corner and falls asleep, his Grey wolf appearing instead of his human in no time. He must've been exhausted. I yawn and fall asleep soon after he does.
