Chapter 36

We ran as fast as we could, the others not far behind. Tsume kept calling me, telling me I shouldn't be running right now, but I ignored him, and kept going. When we reach a ditch, we immediately stop. Is that... "It's him again." Tsume says. Toboe squats down to look at the Hunter better. "His body is almost frozen." Toboe says. "Just leave him, it's what he deserves." Hige says bitterly. "How can you say that knowing how important he is to Blue? If we don't do something, he's gonna die..." Toboe says. Hige scoffs and looks away. "We couldn't do anything to save Blue either remember..." Toboe says. Hige turns back towards Toboe, grabs him, and sucker punches him in the face, Toboe falls into the snow with a grunt. I growl angrily and sucker punch Hige. His head snaps to the side with a grunt. "Don't you EVER put your hands on him again!" I say growling while standing in front of Toboe. Tsume catches Hige by the collar before he can come after us. "Would you stop it? Don't take it out on them." Tsume says glaring at Hige. Hige growls lowly. "We're looking for Kiba right? Then let's go." Hige says before walking off. I glare at him the entire time, until he's far enough away from Toboe, before I turn to the kid to lift his face up for me to see. He's squirming the whole time. "I'm fine Yuna, don't—" I cut him off. "I don't care, let me see anyhow." I say and trap his chin. He was slightly bruised already but no blood. I sigh and let him go. "Toboe?" Tsume asks walking up next to me. "He's alright." I say. "Why don't you go on ahead, I'll catch up." Toboe says. "Don't come crying to me when he wakes up and shoots you." Hige says a few feet away. "You're already on my sh*t list Hige don't make me kick your a**!" I snap. "Enough Yuna." Tsume says. "Bite me Tsume!" I say without looking at him. I hear him mumble something like 'Don't tempt me.' but I don't know for sure. "Hey." Tsume says to Toboe. "Just go on." Toboe says. "Don't get too involved, he's a human after all." Tsume says before turning to me. "Come on, let's go." he says. I nod and look back to Toboe. "Be careful." I say. Toboe nods. I follow Tsume.

Toboe's P.O.V.

Once they were gone, I look at the human again. I turn wolf and lay down right against his body. Almost immediately his hand starts to pet my fur, he is still asleep, but he grunts, and speaks. "Oh Blue...there you are my good girl Blue." he says. I look at him. "I'm...I'm so sorry." he says hugging me to him. One half-asleep eye of his opens and he looks at me. "Bruce..." he says before hugging me to him more and sobbing. Tears fall down his half frozen face. I lick some away and rest my head on him.

Kiba's P.O.V.

I'm here...I'm finally here...Paradise. I run through the tall, soft, Green grass. Mountains and a clear Blue sky was overhead. The air was warm and free of pollution. I start to see a waterhole up ahead and run faster until I reach it. The water's so clear... I look into the water, even though I am in human form, my reflection is my wolf. I put my hand in the cool water, cup them, and lift them to my mouth. The water is sweet. I take a few more handfuls. A woman laughs and I immediately look up. "Who are you?" I ask. "Who am I? I'm Myu, what's your name?" the woman asks with a closed eye smile. She had short Brown hair and Violet eyes. She wore a Yellow hoodie which ended above her belly button, and Blue jeans with Purple and Grey sneakers. Her reflection showed a Lynx. "It doesn't really matter, this place doesn't care who you are, or where you came from." she says. "What do you mean by that?" I ask. "Can't you tell? In this world, everyone can be free." she says. My eyes widen but narrow just as quickly.

Yuna's P.O.V.

"The fact of the matter is it's useless to keep looking, I mean do we go back and search around the fallen keep again? or go past those huge mountains and look for him there? Either way, we still don't know if he's alive." Hige says while we walked. "I had no idea you were so worried about that Blue chick." Tsume says changing the subject. Hige's eyes widen. "Hey! W-What do you mean? I haven't said a word about her!" Hige says taken back. "It's because you haven't said anything that it proves you're worried." Tsume says. "It's not like that." Hige says. Tsume stops and looks up, before I could react, he grabs my arm, and presses me against the wall of rocks surrounding us. I'm about to ask what's wrong but the high pitched frequency catches my attention. You've gotta be kidding me... Two airships were passing through the sky above us. "Those are the same guys who brought down Darcia's keep. Whichever Noble they work for, they're too strong to fight." Tsume says. "They haven't noticed us right?" I whisper. "It's Jagara." Hige whispers. "Jagara?" Tsume asks unknowingly pulling me closer to him. "They must be hers. She's the ruling member to the south." Hige says. "How do you know?" Tsume asks. "I just heard the name is all." Hige says. "Jagara, that's what that human said in the last town...he made it sound like she's collecting wolves. But why the hell would she wanna do that?" Tsume asks.
