My Paradise (Wolf's Rain Fan-Fic)

Chapter 65

We ran for who knows how long, the male following with Cheza, Hige, Blue, and the old man in the vehicle. No one spoke, just continued to run. 

Hub's P.O.V.

The locator on the car faded in and out until finally, going Black. "I hope we're going in the right direction. Paradise is somewhere up ahead isn't it?" I ask Cheza. "Yes. It is." she says almost breathless. I glance at her. "Are you in any pain?" I ask. She shakes her head no. "It's so strange...I'm not sure when, but at some point I started to believe. In all of it. You, the wolves, and Paradise. I'm seeing the world clearly for the first time, just as it's about to end. A little too late huh?" I ask. "It will not end. But simply, begin again. It is so, that it can be reborn." she says. 

Blue's P.O.V.

I watch as Pops struggles with an unknown dream. "Poor Pops...it was all just a misunderstanding, wolves didn't do it. Bruce and Mom didn't die because of them, and they weren't the ones who attacked Curios." I say watching over Pops, sitting next to Hige. "It was all because of Jagara, how ironic." Hige says right before Pops starts to gasp for air as his eyes were wide open, yet all that showed was the White's of his eyes. I jump up and kneel over him, placing my hands on his chest. "What's happening?! Help him!" I scream. Hige gets up and looks through the small window, leading to Hub and Cheza. "Hey stop the car! The old man is dying! Hey!" Hige yells. The car slams it's breaks and finally comes to a stop. Hub runs to the trunk and opens it up, jumping inside.

Yuna's P.O.V.

We stop and run to the back as humans, Kiba being the first to speak. "What's wrong?" Kiba asks. "It could be severe dehydration either that, or he could be convulsing from internal bleeding." the human male says as he continues to press his fist into the mans stomach. "Is there something we can do?" Kiba asks. "I don't even know what the hell I'm doing! I'm not certified in CPR." The male says. That's when Cheza pushes past us and climbs into the trunk. She walks to the old man's top part, making the male stop and look towards her. She then descends her mouth to the old man's. Once she breaks away, the male does that CPR thing he was talking about, and Cheza descends her mouth to the old man's again. "Cheza..." I hear Kiba say in awe. Cheza and the male continue to do this until finally they stop. The old man suddenly gasps for air and coughs as he goes back to normal, taking rapid breaths. The male sighs in relief. "Well I think he's out of the woods for now." the male says. Blue seems to sigh in relief as well before she looks to Cheza, who starts to fall. Before we knew it, Blue was over to Cheza and catches her in her arms. We all decide to take a breather. After a while, the male climbs out of the car and tries to start a fire, while Cheza was back to normal, feeding the old man water from her palms. Kiba sat with her. "Are you alright Cheza?" he asks concerned. "This one will be fine. This one's just tired." Cheza says. "Thank you Cheza. You've done enough." Blue says. "Looks like he's resting now." Toboe says. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure he'll wake up soon." Blue says to him. I sat near Tsume at the trunk's entrance. "Well if he does come to and sees we're still around, won't he just pass out again?" Tsume asks. The human male walks back to where we all were. "The whole idea about going to Paradise with us isn't going to sit very well. It'll probably drive the old guy out of his mind." Tsume adds. I look to him but say nothing. There's not much I can do, he's still going to hate the old man. Besides, it's not like I'm one to talk, I still don't trust the old man. I sigh. "That's not true." Blue says. Both Tsume and I look towards her. "Pops has changed. He accepts me for what I really am now. Back there on the road he protected me. Even after I told him that I was part wolf." Blue adds. "So even after all the times he's tried to kill us, it was all just a simple misunderstanding?" Tsume asks. "It wasn't simple. But it was probably all he had left to hold onto." Hige says. We look to him. "Hige..." Kiba says, urging him to go on almost. "I think his hatred of wolves, is the only thing that's kept him going up until now." Hige says. No one says anything to that and soon, we're running again. 

Toboe's P.O.V.

Hige, the old man, and Blue were all asleep, and I find myself reaching towards his leg. I see movement out of the corner of my eye. Blue had caught me. I take my hand back from almost touching his leg and smile awkwardly. "I was just checking on him. His body feels a lot warmer now." I say and rock back and forth. "You're right. He won't try to kill us. When we found him past Dotnam Mountains a while ago, he held onto me as tight as he could, there in the snow. He thought I was you.The whole time I was thinking, Blue must mean a lot to him. I have to admit, I was jealous." I say remembering that time. "Toboe." Blue says. "Hm?" I ask. "If anything ever happens to me, I want you to look after him okay?" Blue asks. "Don't say things like that! Nothing's going to happen to you, we're all going to go to Paradise together, you hear me?" I say. "I know, but still." she says. I look at her closely. "You don't feel sick do you?" I ask. "No. I just figured that if something did happen. Out of everybody here, you would be the one I could lead him to." she says. "Well, yeah but...I mean of course I'd look out for him Blue." I say. "Good. I'm glad." she says. "Why are you saying this?" I ask. "Toboe...thank you." she says. "What's wrong Blue? You're acting so weird." I ask. She doesn't answer and soon, the car jolts before stopping.
