Chapter 29

Tsume's P.O.V.

The others and I regained consciousness, who knows how long after Cheza was taken. Yuna and Kiba, barely spoke. They simply got up, sniffed the air, and started walking towards the town a couple miles back. Toboe limps up to Yuna and grabs her hand. She looks at him before hugging him. She pulls away and smiles. I sigh and fall into step with them. We have to stop and take a rest for a while, so we wander into a tunnel like structure, and rest underneath for the night. Kiba is the first to get up. "You up and movin already?" Hige asks. I leaned on a peice of metal laying on the ground. Toboe sat a few feet away from Yuna, who sat at the edge of the tunnel, and hugged her knees to her chest. She hasn't moved from that spot since we got here. Hige sat behind the metal I was on. He looked to each of us. "Come on guys, I know we've been through alot, but why all the moping?" Hige asks trying to lighten up the mood. "Because I couldn't sleep, that's why." Toboe says answering for himself. "Yeah, well neither could I." Hige says. I sit up and look at them. "I slept like a dead man as always." I say and look to Yuna. "What about you?" I ask. She looks over her shoulder. "I stayed watch." she says before looking away again. In other words, she couldn't sleep. "Look I'm just as frustrated and shocked as the rest of you, but none of that is gonna help us figure out what the hell to do now. Are we just gonna sit here in a stupor for the rest of our lives? Somebody say something dammit!" Hige says. "Kiba, Yuna, you guys haven't said a single word to any of us since everything happened!" Hige says. I look at him. "Drop it." I say. "Leave them alone, they were hurt the worst remember?" Toboe says. "It's not that. It's just I'm really pissed off." Kiba speaks. Yuna gets up and growls towards the openning. "What is it?" I ask but she doesn't answer. "She went that way! Get her!" The sound of a guy yelling catches our attention. "Come back dammit!" another man yells. "She's over there!" another guy. Then the sounds of someone running catches our ears right before the Black dog slides into our resting spot. You've gotta be kidding me.

Yuna's P.O.V.

It's that damn Hunter's dog! I growl at it as it stops in front of us in a cloud of dirt/smoke. Just when I think it can't get any better, all of the sudden, the Black dog dissapears, and a woman with short Black hair with a hint of spikes takes it's place. You've gotta be kidding me... "Wow, what a babe!" Hige says. I roll my eyes. Leave it to Hige. "She's got friends, not just any friends, there's another chick too! Jackpot!" one guy with semi-long brown hair says. I hear a growl from Tsume before he grabs my arm and puts me behind him. Hige steps in front of the dog. "Yeah, so what's it to you?" he asks crossing his arms over his chest. "Hand over the girls." the man threatens. Tsume growls and narrows his eyes. "Why should we?" Hige asks. "She's our merchandise and with the lump sum of cash we paid, I'd say we've earned a bonus." the man says looking at me and smirking. Tsume blocks his view of me and growls. "Not a chance in hell." Tsume snaps. The lead guy smirks at this. "Move." he says to the other two guys next to him. They split up, trying to circle around Hige and Tsume. "You guys aren't from around here, are you?" the lead guy asks putting his hands to his sides. "Yeah, so what if we aren't?" Hige baits. "There's a big demand for young bodies around here." The guy to our left says pulling out a pipe from who knows where. The other guy to our right does the same. I turn towards him and glare at him. Tsume pulls me towards him even more and wraps an arm around my waist possesively. This surprises me and I find myself wide-eyed and blushing. The hell's gotten into him? "People will pay top dollar for healthy organs." the man to our right says. Kiba stands and moves to my side. Toboe was behind me. The guy charges at us, Tsume pushes me towards Kiba, and attacks the guy. "You don't expect us to give up what's ours do ya?" Tsume asks dodging the guy's next attack. What's...ours? He must be playing along...right? Tsume dodges another attack before roundhouse kicking the guy's back, throwing him forward towards me. I walk to him with a tempting smile, place my finger underneath his chin, before sucker punching his face, and looking at Tsume with a small smile. He smirked and chuckled a bit. The dog and Toboe push the lead guy forward, just as Hige moves to tackle him. The guy on the left yells and charges at Tsume, Kiba, and I. Kiba sticks out his foot and trips him. The guy does a face-plant before Kiba kicks him onto his back, and places his foot on his shoulder to hold him down. The funny part is, Kiba drops his human illusion and snarls down at the guy in wolf form. Tsume and Hige did the same with the other two. "I-I must be going crazy!" the one under Kiba says shaking before looking at me. I smirk and lower my illusion as well. His eyes go wide as saucers. "No, no. It's the curse...the curse of the house of Lord Darcia!" he screams. Kiba snarls and feigns like he was going to bite the guy. The poor guy closes his eyes and screams like a little child. Kiba stops mere-inches away from the guys face. The man open's his eyes and cries. Kiba hops off of him and starts running out the entrance. We follow as our human illusions. We stop at the ruins from the night before before we all burst out laughing. Tsume was the loudest. "Did you see that stupid look on their faces?" he asks. I was sitting next to him, due to him not letting go of my wrist, which he took before running after Kiba and the others. I don't know if I should take it away...or leave it...not that I mind but... "I know, that felt terrific!" Toboe says, pulling me out of my thoughts. I laugh softly. Kiba sits down. "Hey, Kiba you alright?" Toboe asks. "Yeah, I'm fine." he says with a smile. "Hey, how bout you?" Hige asks the dog. She looks at him. "Yeah, thanks for helping me." she says. "We didn't do it for you, you know. Those idiots just happened to catch us in a bad mood." Tsume says. "She was just thanking us, why do you have to be so hard? It's not like we run into real girls everyday. Er, no offense Yuna. By the way, I'm Hige." Hige says pointing to himself like an idiot. I roll my eyes at him. She smiles. "My name is...it's Blue. It's been a long time, hasn't it?" she asks looking at Tsume, Kiba, Toboe, and I. "Huh? You guys know eachother?" Hige asks confused. I scoff. "You can say that..." Kiba says. "Oh yeah, we go way back." I say glaring at her. "You did some pretty nasty things to us when you were with the human." Tsume says. "That old guy, where is he?" Toboe asks. "Something happened, then...we were split up." she says. "He was still tracking us at the last city we were in." Kiba says. I nod before looking at my hand. Does he even realize he has my wrist still? "I know he was, that's why he was there. Pops will track down a wolf to the ends of the earth." she says. "I don't get it, aren't you a wolf too?" Toboe asks. "Hey! That girl, isn't she with you? You know the one you guys were traveling with? She had a...really strange scent." she says. "The girl? You mean Cheza?" Toboe asks. "Cheza?" she asks. "Oh! Uh...about that, well...let's just say we shouldn't talk about that right now okay? I know! Why don't we look for some food? I mean we did just bump into each other and all. Besides, there's a whole mess of danger for a girl on her own in a town like this." Hige says. "Not a chance Porky!" Tsume says. "Why not?" Hige asks clenching his fists. Tsume stands, making me stand with him, since he still hasn't let go. "As if I'd ever hang with her. She was doing everything she could to hunt us down." Tsume says. "Yeah bu--" Toboe cuts Hige off. "You know you're only saying that because it didn't happen to you." he says. She starts laughing. "Forget it, I don't wanna hang with a bunch of kids either. See ya around." she says and jogs off. "Hey! Aren't you guys being a little cold? Hold on, it's dangerous, w-wait up!" Hige says before running after her. "Hige!" Toboe yells but it was no use, he was gone.
