(I strongly suggest listening to exit music (for a film) by Radiohead during this chapter. You'll understand.)

Deena's POV

I heard movement from the hallway and felt my heart drop. Did they ever get my text? Does Max know I used my phone?

"Deena?" I heard a familiar voice whisper as my heart beat sped up. "Miranda?"

"Nick?" I whispered back as the door opened and revealed him and George. I felt my body weaken as I let out sobs. He ran to me and slowly lifted up the chair. I was still crying as they both looked at us. Miranda was crying and repetitively saying thank you. Nick went behind me and gasped at my hands before starting to cut at the rope. George walked over to me and examined my face, and I saw small drops fall from his eyes. My arms were undone and he was now untying my feet before rushing over to Miranda. George slowly and gently helped me up as I tried to calm myself down. I almost immediately fell down once I stood up, the pain being overbearing. Nick walked over to me and picked me up, motioning for George to help Mira. I heard windows shattering and soon heard shouting.

"Where is Clay?" I asked with fear.

"He's distracting him" nick whispered to me as we rushed out the front door, max noticing us and chasing after us. I really thought we had gotten away before I heard a gunshot. With my ears ringing, I looked up and saw Clay standing in front of me. His eyes were wide and all sounds faded away as I saw blood began to spread over his shoulder. I wiggled out of Nick's arms and collapsed over to where Clay had just now fallen, crawling over to him. I looked over and saw Cops speed onto the road, the lights shining and illuminating the dark road. I looked to nick and saw him charge towards Max. I heard shouting and screaming but it was all muffled. I looked back down and Clay was still awake.

"I'm okay it isn't bad. just my shoulder." He said to me and I nodded, still sobbing. George left Miranda's side and bolted towards nick, trying to stop him from getting killed. I heard shouting between cops as Max pulled out an m4 and shit it up at the sky. I was shaking and saw Miranda frozen still. I stared at him silently as cops began to sprint out of their cars with guns drawn.

It all happened in slow motion.

He slowly began to turn and the gun wasn't facing me anymore.

It was facing Miranda as she stood in shock.

I looked back at Max

Nick and George were still on the ground

Clay started to sit up

I heard at least five loud pops as I'm moved my eyes to Miranda.

Her body jolted before collapsing onto the ground.

Blood flooded the yard.

"No!!!" I screamed as loud as I could, trying my hardest to get to her as fast as possible before Clay grabbed my arm, making my hair fly forward and around my face. I looked over to Max and saw him on the ground now, the cops shot him. I turned and saw nick and George sprint towards me. I stared at my best friends lifeless body as warm arms wrapped around me, taking me away from the scene. "Please don't let her be gone! Please don't let her be gone!" I screamed as hard as I could as an ambulance started taking her. I watched as Clay walked to a different ambulance. I looked up and saw it was George who was carrying me and he soon sat me down in an ambulance himself. The image of Miranda's lifeless body never left my mind. "Please come with me" I cried as he stood outside.

"He can't darling he has to go to the cops" I heard someone speak and saw a nice lady wearing a uniform. I turned back and watched as the door shut. I could barely see out the window, but I saw George and Nick standing there emotionless.

She can't be gone.

Don't be stupid, you watched her get shot multiple times.

But I need her.

You sat there as blood surrounded her body. She's gone.

This is my fault.

Yeah, it is.

My thoughts kept fighting each other as I struggled to stay awake. My heart was racing as I watched the lady wrap a few of my fingers. Someone else was tending to my face before I fell asleep.

George's POV:

Watching everything unfold was terrifying. It happened in a blur. Clay got shot, but it lucky only hit his shoulder. This made Nick try to tackle Max, but I knew he'd get hurt, or worse, killed. I tackled Nick before he got near him, and looked over to see Max pointing a gun straight at Deena. Everyone was frozen before he turned it towards Miranda, gunning her down. I watched Deena try to rush over to her before Clay stopped her, then a cop shot max. I heard coughing and turned to see Nick throwing up before we both sprinted towards Denise and Clay. I refused to look at Miranda's body, but I could see in the corner of my eye how the blood was all over the yard, and getting onto the sidewalk. I slowly picked Deena up bridal style as Nick helped Clay up. He walked to an ambulance before getting driven away. Nick was soon by my side again as I helped Deena get into a different ambulance. I stood there as she was driven away. Silence was loud and I turned over to Nick. He looked at me and saw the tears in my eyes before embracing me in a big hug, letting me cry.

"She's okay" he stated before letting go. I wiped my face quickly. "Clay is okay"

"Miranda is dead, Nick" I mumbled before pulling at my hair. "Dead!" I shouted before I heard loud footsteps running towards us. Me and Nick both looked over to see her friend Ian standing there. He noticed our tears and started to panic.

"She can't be d-" he shook his head. "No she's not" I realized he though Deena had died, so I quickly spoke up.

"She's not dead!" I quickly reassured while facing him.

"You just said she's dead!" His eyes got watery fast.

"Not Denise" Nick stepped in "Miranda" Ian's eyes sunk low after that, I assume they were also friends.

"W-why?"

"She got shot by Max"

"That motherfucker!"

"He's gone. Cops killed him"

It was once again silent as we all stood there, before the cops came to question us. We told them everything.
