George's POV

We all were laughing and slowly striding out of the water after the big water fight. We looked a wreck. Nick ran and plopped onto the blanket, sure enough passing out, and Clay sat in his chair. Deena and I were behind them and I looked at her as she smiled down at her feet. She seems happier today. Other says you won't catch her smiling without talking to someone, and she slumps around. She was swinging her arms back and forth and looked up at me, catching my stare. I snapped my head away and felt her get closer before nudging me.

"Someone has a staring problem" she laughed and I froze. She stopped and turned to face me with a grin on her face.

"Wha-" I barely got out and she started laughing again, putting her hand on my shoulder to support herself. She looked back up at me and made eye contact and smiled. I smiled back confusingly before she spoke again.

"I was joking" we continued walking and soon sat down in our chairs. Nick was clearly getting red so I kicked him to put sun screen on and he groaned.

"So how do you guys feel about a stream tonight?" Nick spoke up after sitting back down. Deena's head piped up but Clay just stayed down.

"I can't" he frowned and all of our heads turned to him. "I don't think it's a good idea"

"But they think that Deena has a friend too so if they see us in public-"

"Nick I don't want to" he snapped and we all looked away from him. He stood up and grabbed his phone before snatching his chair and walking back to the cottage. Of course, Deena launched up out of her chair to follow him but we stopped her.

"Deena just let him cool off" I spoke softly and she furrowed her eyebrows at me.

"Cool off? George he seems-" she stopped herself when her phone buzzed and she picked it up. Her eyes softened and a small smile appeared on her face before she sat down again. "He just texted me not to follow him and he's taking a nap."

"Okay" I smiled as we sat for about ten more minutes, just enjoying the breeze and the sound of the ocean. We had music softly playing and it was super peaceful.

"Hey guys I'm going to take a nap" Nick mumbled while he laid down on the blanket again. Deena's shook her head and pulled him up before moving the blanket under the umbrella we had. "Oh thank you" he smiled.

"Yeah don't get more burnt than you already are you idiot" she laughed before turning back to me. She smiled and walked over, placing her small hand in mine and pulling me up quickly. "Look" she turned and pointed at the ocean which was now nearly flat, only small and weak waves forming.

"Woah" I smiled and looked back down to my side. She was still holding my hand, but now was holding onto my entire arm. She started to walk so I moved with her towards the boards. "But there's no waves?"

"Get one of the other long boards and just follow me" she let go and ran into the water quickly before paddling out. I followed behind and finally got to where she was. She sat on the board facing the horizon with a smile. I sat up once I was next to her and she reached over and grabbed the strap to my board, tying them together. "Now lay back and relax"

"Do you need to talk about anything" I was quiet but I felt like I needed to ask. She turned her head towards me with a small smile and shook her head, facing back up at the sky. "If you do just let me know"

"George" I turned back to her and she had a soft frown, worry immediately took over my expression and I shifted into my side. "Thank you for being such a good person"

"I-Of course." She smiled and I relaxed again before turning back over. We laid there for awhile before we felt the waved slowly pick back up. The rocking never made me feel sick, which was quiet surprising. Once we paddled back in Nick was awake and sitting on his phone.

"Welcome back I was getting lonely" his laugh made us smile and we sat with each other again.

"What time is it?" Deena asked while taking a sip of her water.

"4:30" my eyes widened at how quickly time had passed. We all stood up and packed our things and began to walk back to the cottage. "Do you guys think Clay is okay?"

"I'm sure he's okay" Deena patted the scared Nick's shoulder. "He just gets anxiety with his identity"

"Yeah you're right, I'm just worrying a lot" he smiled as we walked inside.

"You're okay" both Deena and I said before smiling at each other. She quickly hopped in the shower while Nick went in his own. I was sitting in the floor going through Twitter so I didn't get my bed all dirty. I read a few funny tweets from many people before I heard Deena say my name.

"Yeah!?" I shouted through the door and stood outside of it.

"Can you talk to me through the door to keep me company?" I heard her laugh and laughed to myself

"Of course what would you like to talk about?" I slid against the door and sat down on the soft carpet, the heat coming from the crack of the door radiating onto my lower back.

"Anything"

"Anything?"

"Yes George, anything" she laughed loudly again and I caught myself smiling at the sound. Which is fucking weird.

"Okay anything." I rubbed my hands together as I tried to think of something random. "When you play Rock Paper Scissors, which one do you normally choose?"

"Seriously?"

"You said anything!"

"Rock" I felt the smile come back onto my face. "I normally pick rock"
