Deena's POV

I felt George shift for a moment and he cleared his throat, making me sit up. He had a nervous and awkward look on his face and it seemed like he was contemplating something.

"George?" I smiled and he looked at me, and it was like all of the nerves went away when he smiled back. "You okay?"

"Yeah I have to ask you something." He moved so his body was facing me so I followed his actions. "I was wondering if um... I was thinking-"

"Spit it out" I chuckled and he shushed me quickly.

"I was," he rubbed his face in frustration of himself "do you want to go to dinner with me tonight?"

"Like a date?" I smirked at him and raised my eyebrows.

"Y-yes" he swallowed nervously and I couldn't help but laugh a little bit. I watched him struggle to hold eye contact and t sighed.

"Of course, I would love to" I smiled and his face lit up faster than lightening McQueen. "So it's a date"

"Yeah. Tonight at 8 we're leaving. Dress nicely" he smiled with some type of new born confidence. I checked the time and saw it was 6:37. We watched iron man when I came upstairs so of course time flew by.

"I'll get ready at 7" I smiled and he shrugged.

"I want to take my time and get ready, plus I have to shower so I will start getting ready now" he stood up with a smile and I rolled my eyes at him as he walked away. I pulled up Netflix and decided to watch an episode of the office while I waited.

Time skip to after the episode finished

"So" I turned my head to see Clay and Nick walk in with big grins. "A date?"

"Clay" I groaned and stood up. I smiled at his stupidity and he laughed at me before grabbing me and ruffling my hair. "Stop!"

"Come on you going on a date! That's awesome" he laughed and let go of me. Nick had the biggest grin on his face but it turned cocky once he came towards me.

"I always knew this would happen" he smiled proudly and I shoved him away while he came in for a hug, making let out a groan. "ow."

"No you didn't" I rolled my eyes and Clay laughed. "Now let me get ready"

"Can I help?" Nick quickly became exited. "Please?"

"Fine, and Clay are you cool with watching Downey? If not I can-"

"Yes now go get ready" he shoved me and Nick away and laughed, before turning and picking up the dog that was jumping at his feet. We walked down stairs and I shuffled a calming playlist.

"Are you nervous?" He asked once we walked into my room.

"Not really, no" I smiled and grabbed a nice blue sundress I had, but not the same one I wore to dinner last time. It was more beachy with more crocheted pieces on it.

"Woah that's pretty" Nick gnawed at it and took it from my hands, holding it up. I snatched it quickly and rolled my eyes at him. "Hey!"

"Let me change" I laughed and quickly walked into the bathroom, seeing George's door shut with faint music. I quickly through it on and balled my clothes up, walking out and throwing them on the ground.

"Woah it looks so good on you" Nick said in awe, looking like a child seeing dolphins in the ocean.

"Thank you" I smiled and ruffled his hair before sitting down on the ground, patting the bed behind me. "I'm honor of your best friend taking me to dinner, would you like to do my hair?"

"Really!?" He jumped and quickly ran to sit down, both of his legs on each side of me. I patiently played with the end of the dress. "Yes!"

"Okay just make sure it doesn't look bad" I laughed and handed him my brush and hair tie. He nodded quickly and softly brushed my hair. It felt nice and he was very gentle. It took about 10 minutes but he finished and patted my shoulders.

"I think I did good!" He smiled proudly of himself and I looked in the mirror.

"Why does it look better than when I do it?" I asked plainly in shock. He did a soft braid that went to the side, and it was a French braid as well. "How do you know how to do hair??"

"Clay's sister taught me when I came here last year" he shrugged it off like it was nothing while I stared at him in utter belief.

"You're talented" I pointed at him with a smiled and grabbed my mascara, quickly putting some on. I slipped on some flip flops and grabbed me phone, forcing Nick to take a picture with me.

"Still not nervous?" He asked while we sat on my bed.

"Not in the least very bit" I smiled while pinching my fingers together and showing him. He laughed and shook his head.

"Im nervous for you" he pushed my shoulder and stood up. "But it's 7:48, are you ready madam?"

"Yes" I laughed as he bowed down and put his hand out. I slapped his hand and stood up.

"Ow" he glared at me and I rolled my eyes. We walked out of my room and George was standing by the front door messing with his sleeves. He was wearing nice black pants with a white short sleeve button up. His grown out hair was brushed and lay nicely on his forehead, not looking unkept at all, and he just looked good all together. He spun around when he heard the door and his eyes went wide.

"Woah"

"Hi" I smiled and walked towards him. He smiled down at me and I smiled back. "So where are you taking me?"

"That" he held out his hand with hesitation, obviously nervous. I quickly intertwined our fingers, helping him calm down more. "is a surprise"

"Okay I feel awkward. Have fun" Nick quickly smiled and began to walk up the stairs.

"Hey!" He turned around with a 'what now' face. "Thank you for helping me"

"Of course" he gave me a thumbs up and laughed at me before he jumped up the last few stairs, turning the corner. I turned back to George.

"What did he do? Just sit with you?" George asked sarcastically, not thinking he did anything.

"No he did my hair" I said bluntly. His eyes went wide and he spun me around with my hand slowly to see it all around.

"Holy shit what the fuck" he laughed and I joined in. "How did he do that"

"Apparently Clay's sister taught him last year" I laughed and George opened the door, leading us to the car. "And also, I hate surprises"

"You'll love this one, love"
