Deena's POV

We got back to Clay's and walked in. I left my bags in the car and helped George bring his out. I walked into Clay's room and he was switching the pads that were on his shoulder.

"Does it hurt?" I asked as I leaned against the doorway. He turned around and smiled at me before putting new pads on.

"Only when I move it a certain way" I smiled and grabbed his bag. I nodded and walked beside him, making our way to see Nick carrying like six bags.

"Jeez did you pack enough?" I laughed and he rolled his eyes, walking out the door without saying anything. "What's his problem?"

"I was making fun of him for it earlier and he got pissed" Clay laughed and I shook my head with a small smile on my face. I felt my phone vibrate and pulled it out, seeing a text from Darryl.

Darryl or whatever 🧁
I'm about thirty minutes away from the rental. See you soon.

I smiled and sent a quick 'okay :)' back before swiping out of the messaging app. I looked at my screen and it was a picture of me and Miranda. I stood there for a minute staring at it. There was no reason for her to get tied into everything and be the one to suffer. No reason at all. I looked up and saw Clay walk back inside.

"Ready?" He smiled and I nodded.

"I'm going to the bathroom first." He nodded his head and went to the car with everyone. I practically ran to the bathroom and shut the door quickly, leaning against the counter and feeling the tears pool out. My breaths were heavy and I felt the lump in my throat grow as I tried to stop. I stood there for a few minutes letting it out until I heard the front door open. I quickly tried to wipe my tears as fast as possible before I heard a knock on the door and a concerned George. I swung open the door and smiled brightly, but he didn't buy it. He dropped his arms to his sides and gave me a sad look before slowly moving his arms, asking if he could hug me. I didn't answer, but just latched onto him. I didn't let anymore tears fall and we just stood there. He played with the ends of my hair for a few seconds before we both pulled apart. I smiled and nodded as if I was saying I was okay before we went to the car. Nick and Clay were listening to 'Party in the U.S.A' and I laughed at them. Clay was driving with Nick in the passenger while me and George were in the back. When we started to drive away I got a text message.

Georgie :D

*cup pong*

I looked over to him and he had a massive grin. I smiled back and opened the game. We had a few rounds before I won, easily. I smiled and he rolled his eyes, slamming his phone down in his lap in 'anger'. I turned away and looked out the winder as we approached the beach and soon arrived to the cottage. I smiled when I saw how cool it was. I hopped out of the car and grabbed one of my bags before someone else grabbed my second one. Of course, it was George.

"Thanks" I smiled and he nodded. We made our way inside and it was a nice four bedroom house. The masters was on the third floor by the kitchen while the other three were on the first and second floor. Nick immediately snatched the second floor because of the pool table and pinball machine while Clay took the master, Leaving me and George the bottom floor with the theater. I was unpacking my bags when someone walked out of my bathroom.

"Hello neighbor!" I turned to see George. I was confused as to how he got into my room before I realized.

"We have connecting bathrooms?" I asked excitedly. He laughed at me and nodded his head. I walked passed him and into his room which just looked like mine but with a small desk in the corner. "Sickkk"

"Now I can wake you up whenever I want" he laughed and I rolled my eyes. He flopped onto my bed and spread out, relaxing.

"I'm the one who wakes up early" I smiled as I put my final things in the bathroom. I walked in and sat down at the edge of the bed. I felt the bed shift and George sat up next to me. I pulled out my phone and opened Miranda's contact. I did this everyday now. I didn't care that George saw because I knew he wouldn't say anything. I sent her a text saying 'I miss you' before hitting the call button and setting my phone down.

"Hey this is Miranda. I might be with Deena or something I don't know" I heard her voice and myself laughing in the background, her laughing too. "I'm sorry I missed your call I probably won't listen to your audio message so just text me"

I sat there and pressed the red button after I heard the beep. George was quiet, just looking at my phone with me. I felt my body get warm but I felt shivers down my spine as we sat there. It was a comfortable silence. I looked down and George was playing with his sleeves again. I reached out and pulled his hands apart.

"Stop that" I said softly and he looked at me confused. "You only do that when you're nervous. Why are you doing it?"

"I didn't know if I should say something" he didn't look up at me and just shifted his hands under his legs. I sighed and stood up, reaching my hand out. He grabbed it and I pulled him up.

"Don't be nervous." I smiled and evened out the strings of his hoodie, which was bothering me all day. He smiled down at me before we walked out. I heard a car door shut before we got to the stairs and I snapped my hand towards the door. George was quick to get there and open it for me, letting me brush past him and rush out. I saw Darryl shut his door and I bolted to him, feeling the warm tears start to pour out. I jumped into his arms and sobbed, hearing him let out a few cries too.

"I missed you so much" I cried and he rubbed my back.

"I missed you too, Deena" he pulled back and wiped my tears before pulling me into the hug again. He looked up to George standing there with a small 'hello' smile and I pulled away, letting him say hi to his friends. They hugged each other before we all started to walk inside. Darryl walked ahead while George stayed still for a few seconds, waiting for me. Once I got to where he was he started walking again, placing his hand softly on my back and drawing circles with his thumb as we walked.
