My head was pounding massively and I couldn't feel my leg. It's surprisingly not infected yet, but I've lost a lot of blood. I don't think I will make it for another 24 hours in this condition, since I have been in this place for a couple days now.
"You know, Fritz, one of these days, I'm gonna have a stick of my own," Dum Dum says to the guard outside of our cells. I was sitting against the pole, trying to stay awake so I wouldn't fall asleep permanently.
"Antagonizing him won't do anything," Montgomery says annoyed.
"We have to prepare them for when we get out," he says in response and I scoff.
"Change that when to never," I say. "Unless a miracle happens, it's unlikely." Dum Dum sighs, leaning against the cell.
"How are you feeling?" one of the soldiers I learned to be Rick.
"I'm not dead yet," I answer, closing my eyes from the bright light.
"Any symptoms of blood loss?" Dum Dum asks, and I raise my eyebrow at him.
"Well, the stab wound is a bit obvious," I say. "And if I was delusional right now, and none of you were actually here, I wouldn't be surprised." Suddenly I hear a bang on top of the other cells, a guard landing on the cell, causing a clang.
The soldiers in that cell had a conversation with someone, but I couldn't tell who it was. I hear running, and all the men standing up, getting ready to leave. Dum Dum walks over to me, helping me stand up and keep me stable. "What's going on?" I ask.
"We're being saved," Dum Dum says, helping me walk to the door. A tall blonde was helping everyone out of their cells, creating a whole crowd, and the guy gets to our cell. Dum Dum helps me walk out of the cell, and everyone huddles around the guy I swore I knew.
The blond looks at me, and worry fills his eyes. "Y/n, are you alright?" I immediately recognize the voice, but that does not look like him at all.
"Steve?" I question, and he gives me a little nod. I look to Dum Dum and say, "I'm definitely delusional, aren't I?" This makes him chuckle lightly.
"Where's Sergeant Barnes?" Steve asks everyone.
"There's an isolation ward in the factory, but no one's ever come back from it," Montgomery says, and my stomach drops. He didn't tell me that.
"All right. The tree line is northwest, 80 yards past the gate. Get out fast and give 'em hell. I'll meet you guys in the clearing with anybody else I find," Steve says.
"Wait! You know what you're doing?" Gabe asks.
"Yeah, I've knocked out Adalf Hilter over two hundred times," Steve says before running off. I make a confused face, but just conclude that this is all a hallucination, maybe I'll wake up soon.
Dum Dum starts leading me to the outside of the base, where there were Hydra and our soldiers running around, shooting at each other. "Let's get in there so you can sit down," Dum Dum says, pointing towards a tank.
We start running, or limping, towards the tank, and everything starts to become fuzzy for me. My vision starts to blur, my hearing goes in and out, and I can't feel my body anymore.
Dum Dum helps me in the tank, and lays me down in the passenger seat. "Hey, not exactly a Buick," he says, trying to find how to start it. I focus on the words on the panel, recognizing it's German.
"That one. Zündung," I say weakly, starting to feel my eyes get heavy. Dum Dum looks at me with a mixture of confusion and impressment.
Montgomery jumps in the tank, saying, "Get this thing going, Dugan!"
"I didn't know you speak German," Dum Dum says, starting up the tank.
"There's a lot of stuff you don't know about me," I say, watching my vision go dark. I hope this is real, and we are actually getting out of here. What I hope the most though is that Bucky is okay, as well as Steve. I don't think I could live with myself if something happened to either of them.
