I am scared is an understatement, he is a feet away from me and I have already become sensitive enough to feel his fine hair against my skin. He turned to me a little giving me his crescent moon smile, I couldn't return it, I am heaving and I had to concentrate on not making it obvious.
"Happy Mating, I hope you enjoy it to the fullest...." My best friend beamed giving me a side hug. What the hell, She is supposed to say Happy Marriage or something, Isn't it enough to marry a stranger, How can you even mate with him on the same day, I am a beta not some super human who could take it all on the same day and not get weirded out.
I scowled at her, she of everyone should know how difficult it was for me to stand here, beside the man who is now being called my husband, when I don't even know what colour he likes.
She only winked at me making me roll my eyes, he was chatting with someone, may be one of the guests, his voice dominating everyone else's in the room, that itself was enough to make me start shivering.
"New..." He suddenly turned calling me, next time could you give me a warning please, having those eyes on me out of no where made me feel naked. I must have looked like a lost puppy, because the next thing he did, made me loose the remaining sensibility I have, that was to spread his hand on the small of my back guiding me to turn to the guest..... "This is my professor, he inspired me to pursue photography, he is a renowned artist during his times..." I did hear his words but there was no way I could process them with his hand sending silent shivers down to my feet.
However thank god for I didn't have to comprehend what he said to remember my etiquette, I quickly waied to the old man, a habit that's weaved into every nerve and blood drop of our's. The old man smiled sweetly at me returning the Wai with a blessing.
I looked at my mother blankly when she said it's time for us to head home and that the ceremony plus the guests greeting was over. Home? Whose home? Can I go to my home? To my cozy bed and piled up work. But to my horror my husband nodded, his face peaceful, who would believe that the whole room was under his control without him even trying. I know my haziness is completely because of his dense aura that has engulfed me since the morning.
"Do you need a minute?" My eyes went wide at the question. And when I looked up he was still smiling, how, how when I am this scared from just his presence, how could he just smile like there is nothing going on.
"I will wait in the car, Take your time..." He patted my shoulders, for real?, is he for real. What is he trying to do? Be good to me in public, so he can torture me in private?
Well, taking my time was not possible anyway with my parents pushing me to not make my husband wait. I saw him waiting at the car leaning by it, his hair rustling by the wind, smiling at something on his phone.
He looked up as soon as I went near him, must have felt me in his control bubble. His smile widened once again looking at me.
"Ready already....?" He asked his voice soothing, happy. I nodded slightly not lifting my head completely.
He also nodded and went to open the car door but instead of getting in he held it open and looked at me waiting. What? what's happening? Is he for in this world? Who opens the door for there betas these days? No, I must be deluding, it can't be true, may be someone else is joining us, may be his mother is riding with him.
"New!..." He called me again, Just, just a warning please. Because it made my knees buckle, I had to hold on to the car bonnet so I won't fall.
"Coming?" He raised his eyebrows, still waiting for me. So, it IS for me. I can see my future now, I am going to be sore and ill for atleast coming six months and I better co-operate. I walked slowly to the shot-gun and settled myslef. He closed the door safely and moved to the driver seat.. Now what? He can't be driving, come on, stop joking already.
