He gets me

Kao came out to his mom long back and now she is worried he would remain single as Kao never liked anyone he dated. He would go for a couple of dates and then avoids them saying 'he doesn't get me at all'. His mom is struggling to figure out what Kao actually wants in his partner.

Pete was heartbroken, he has just broke up with his girlfriend and has been spending most of the time in the confines of his room.
He was happy to drive his father to his alumni meet of Golden jubilee of there University.
Kao on the other hand was annoyed at how long he had to wait for his mom to drive her to the same alumni meet.

Kao cursed the guy for his rash driving when a posh car over took Kao without any warning. Pete was impatient at the guy infront driving too slow and overtook him without a glance.

After dropping the parents the boys went on to proceed with there routine. Pete to the bar, Kao to his friend's cafe.

Pete made sure he won't get drunk as he has to drive back and he is an aggressive driver as is. Kao was getting himself high on caffeine as it was a bad day for the cafe and he had to make sure all the orders that went wrong are not wasted.

Pete's father opened the door as soon as he noticed the car headlights beaming at the fence.
"Why haven't you slept yet Pa... Did you meet your crush, is that it ?" Pete joked sprawling himself over the sofa beside his father.

The father chuckled... " Oo Pete, the only crush i have ever had was on your mother" he almost blushed saying that... "But i met a very good friend... "
Pete sat up frowning, he knew this was going somewhere he wouldn't like... "She is actually the wife of my best friend, We used to always go on double dates and your mother used to say we should get married on the same day and buy houses in the same compound" Pete's father said smiling from the memories.

"So then what happened Pa?" Pete asked with a hand under his face waiting curiously.

"Then My best friend and I, we fought on the silliest of things and let ego take over, we lost contact after college and  I didn't even know they have a son and a daughter till today..." His eyes are sad now.

Pete let a hand sooth his father's thighs calming him... "So what, atleast, now you know right? Let's invite them over for lunch sometime" Pete said smiling trying to cheer his father.

"Hmm..." The father sighed... "I actually have something to ask you..."

"Wait, you said you met her, does that mean your friend... "Pete was not sure how to continue..."her husband...." Pete paused again....

His father nodded...

"I am sure your mother and Kao's father are now enjoying there vacation up there.... They always took care of each other like siblings..." His father was smiling again.

"Kao?, is that there son?" Pete asked.

"Ya... And I wanted to talk to you about him... " Pete frowned at that.

"Pa, i just came out of a relationship..." He complained.

"I know Pete, Kaeth was worried that Kao hasn't found anyone he liked yet and I told her that you are a charmer" His father tried to convince Pete.... "I am not asking you to give your answer right away Pete, think about it, Kaeth said Kao would be available at Sun's cafe during the weekend... Go meet him and then decide..." His father's voice is getting hopeful by the minute.

"Oo... On weekdays?" Pete asked taking in all the information.

"That's another thing I wanted to mention, he is running a firm, an architectural firm, Try to go and check out his work, it might be helpful for the new interior design wing that you are planning to add to our portfolio" Pete's father suggested. Pete nodded thoughtfully.
