Monday
"Cassie!" Summer practically jumped on her best friend when she saw her. Summer could get a little over excited sometimes.
"Summer, I would appreciate it if you wouldn't kill me when you say hello." Cassidy rolled her eyes. "Just chill, girl"
"OMG, you are never going to guess what I did this weekend, Cassie. Never in a million years are you gonna guess. But, I'm not saying you shouldn't try and guess. You should try and guess. Guess, Cassidy, guess! Come on, I'm sure you will get it just try and-"
"Calm down, Sum. I'll guess, ok?" Cassidy sighed. "So, on Saturday you went to Antarctica and met a penguin. On Sunday you went to church, fought a man-eating slime and ate a giant cake ball, all by yourself."
"Not even close."
"I was getting there."
"On Saturday, me and Amber went to Movie Central and saw Cupcake Clash 3."
"Shut up! Seriously, I've been dying to see that since Cupcake Clash 2. I always knew there would be a sequel."
"Yesterday I went to the new church and guess who was there."
"Derek the dork?" Cassidy giggled sarcastically.
"No!" Summer groaned. "Alexine!"
"Woah, seriously. Shocking."
"Oh and also Cole. We had dinner at his place and apparently he has a brother, no big deal."
Cassidy's mouth dropped open in shock. "No big deal?! Cole is your sixth-grade crush. Did you get to see his room?" she asked.
"Hmm... yes."
Cassidy squealed. "What did it look like?"
"Like a normal teenage boy's room, but I'll let you in on a secret. Don't tell anyone at all."
"Ok, go on," Cassidy said eagerly
"He has a sketch of me on his wall. He drew it," Summer continued.
"Really, that is so cute. Cole's sweet."
Just then, Cole walked by and said, "If you guys don't have anything to do, you can come over to the football field and watch the game. We're playing against the Crusaders. Coach Cox asked the team if we could spread the word. The more that can come, the better. I hope you guys can make it." Then he started jogging to his homeroom.
"Oh My Gosh. He technically just asked you to watch him play."
"No, he didn't!" Summer snapped at her friend.
"Wow, Summer, your sixth grade crush talked to you," Cassidy said in awe.
"Ya, fine, think whatever you like," Summer sighed. "But, he said his coach asked him to. School spirit or whatever. It doesn't matter though."
Then they started walking to their homeroom. Once they sat down, the bell rang. Ms. Landercord gave the announcements. "The school Christmas Ball is coming up. Otherwise known as the school dance during the Christmas season. It's going to be on Friday. So you guys have 4 days to get a group of friends together, your best friend, or even maybe a date." She paused to go over some more details. "Now, let's talk about cyberbullying."
After all the morning classes, lunch came.
"Are you considering what Cole said? Are you going to watch the game?" Cassidy asked curiously.
"Not because he just happened to ask me, but because I don't have anything to do after school today," Summer said to her bestie.
"Ok..." Cassidy giggled. "But I can only stay until 4:00, remember I have gymnastics. Oh, you still make it to my gymnastics competition next Wednesday, right?"
"Of course, I would never miss it. Nervous?"
"A little, but I'll feel better if you were there cheering me on."
