Christmas Eve

"It's Christmas Eve!" Amber jumped on Summer's bed.

"Go away, Amber." Summer pushed Amber off of her bed. It was 7:00 in the morning. Amber left the room to go annoy their parents. Summer picked up her phone. She clicked on the cute picture of Cole and facetimed him. Cole picked up almost immediately.

"Hey," he said sleepily. Summer could see that he was still in bed.

"Hey, cutie."

"Wait, I don't have my shirt on. I'm just gonna change. Real quick." He disabled the camera and jumped out of bed. "So, what are you doing up so early?"

"Wanting to call you?"

Cole enabled the camera again. This time he was combing his messy hair. "Really?"

"No. Amber woke me up."

"Ahh... I see." He started flexing his muscles.

"Show off." Summer giggled.

"Just... exercising."

"Why are you up so early? Talking to your girlfriend again. I see." Dan walked into the room, rubbing his eyes.

Cole stuck out his tongue at his brother.

"Hey, Summer," Dan said.

"Dude, this is my girlfri- I mean friend. Not yours. You can leave now," Cole said.

"Okay, okay. Chill! I'll back off." Dan shoved his brother. "Besides, I got my own girl."

"Oh, Danny boy!" Kisten called.

"Dan, I bet mine is prettier than yours."

Dan glared at Cole and Summer just giggled. "Coming, Kristie!" Dan called his girlfriend.

"Guys, no need to fight over me," Summer said. "Besides, I think we can all agree that I'm the prettier one."

"You're right," Cole said. He leaned forward with his lips pressed together.

"Cole, you do realize we're talking through a screen, right."

"Oh, right." Cole backed away. "So, are you coming to meet me at the airport on Friday?"

"Of course, babe."

"Ok? So is that a yes or a no. Cuz it's pretty early." Cole rolled around on his bed.

"How early?"

"Around seven."

"That's not too early. I mean, I would do anything to see you right now." Summer's eyes gleamed.

"Sure." Cole could hear a small voice and then stomping sounds through the other side of the phone.

"Summer Jessica Zaayer! Get off your phone now! Why are you on your phone so early?!" Summer's mom yelled from the background.

"Summer, what's that?" Cole asked, rubbing his eyes.

"Nothing, my mom is just mad at me. I'll WhatsApp you later. Got to go!" Summer disconnected the video call. Cole sighed. He had only got to talk to Summer for 20 minutes.

"Come on," Cole groaned.

"What's the matter?" Dan asked.

"I only got to talk to Summer for 20 minutes."

"Oh. That must be sad." Dan pouted and tried to copy Cole's reaction. "Oh no, my girlfriend won't talk to me anymore. I'm like literally so sad."

"That is so not like me," Cole grumbled.

Ding!

Cole took his phone out of his pocket.

SUMMER: sry, mom got mad at me. I think she's suspicious

COLE: u have to promise she does not find out about us

SUMMER: promise. I'll try. 😜

COLE: good. Wish I could talk to u more often. I haven't seen u in so long. 😭

SUMMER: I'll see u on Friday.

COLE: Thanks 😘

Cole sighed. "She's so nice to me, I don't know how I would feel without her in my life," Cole thought to himself.

"Come on," Dan yelled from the door of their hotel room. "We're getting breakfast downstairs."

"You guys can go down first. I'll meet you there," Cole yelled back. Kristen and Dan linked arms and headed out the door. Cole couldn't stop thinking about his relationship with Summer.
