Christmas Day
Summer yawned as she woke up on her favorite holiday. She checked her phone. She had a notification and two missed calls from Cole. She decided to text him instead.
SUMMER: soz i didnt get ur calls
SUMMER: i was sleeping on CHRISTMAS DAY!!!
Cole replied straight away, before Summer could ever turn off her phone to get out of bed.
Pebble Drop!
COLE: It's fine. A little early anyways.
SUMMER: Merry Christmas btw 🎄🔔⛄🕯🎁

SUMMER: wow i didn't even notice. JK! I tots did, obvi
COLE: WOW! Btw I got you a Christmas present

Amber started yelling at the top of her lungs, "IT'S CHRISTMAS!" and running around the house.
SUMMER: gtg. My sis is needing some presents
SUMMER: she crazily yelling
COLE: LOL
SUMMER: ttyl... MERRY CHRISTMAS
COLE: MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ttyl
Summer jumped out of bed and threw on her Christmas hoodie. Then, she left her bedroom to tackle Amber onto the sofa. "Shh!" Summer yelled.
Amber giggled.
"Merry Christmas, sis." Summer gave Amber a hug.
"Merry Christmas." Amber hugged Summer back. "Now... can we open presents."
Summer laughed. Then her parents came down the stairs, rubbing their eyes.
"Who's ready to open presents?!" Mr. Zaayer ran towards the sofa, giving his children a big hug.
Mrs. Zaayer stumbled slowly into the living room, half asleep. "Thanks for letting us sleep in 10 minutes extra this year, Amber," Mrs. Zaayer laughed.
"Yea, I really needed to sleep in until 7:30 this year," Mr. Zaayer agreed.
The family started searching underneath their Christmas tree to find the presents belonging to them. Amber snatched the biggest present from underneath the tree.
"Mine! Mine!" Amber yelled as she jumped onto the couch.
"Amber. Check the name tag. It may not be yours," Summer said.
Amber fumbled with the name tag and checked. It belonged to Amber. "Yes! It's for me!" Amber screeched. "The biggest present is mine! All mine!" Amber danced around in circles. Then she started ripping off the wrapping paper to reveal a windows laptop. "Finally! My own laptop." Amber hugged the box.
"We feel like you deserve your own electronic device," Mr. Zaayer said. "Just don't break it. Those things cost a lot of money."
"Thanks, Dad." Amber hugged her dad. "Thanks, Mom." She gave her mom a hug too.
"My turn to open a present," Summer said. Summer received quite a few gifts from her parents, sister, friends, and relatives. Some of her presents were cute outfits, a phone case, a pop socket, and some spray paint.
"Thanks, Amber for the thoughtfulness of this phone case," Summer giggled. "It's actually cute." Amber gave Summer a blue and pink, geometric shape pattern phone case. Summer immediately changed her phone case. She also added the galaxy pop socket her aunt gave her.
Summer spent this special holiday celebrating with her family. Summer's family have always had special traditions, including staying in their home state, for Christmas Day. After they open presents, they eat a home cooked breakfast that they all make together. Then they spend some time focusing on the real meaning of Christmas and pray about it as a family. Then, they always do fun activities together before lunch. They always have something simple that they make the day before. They just heat it up and they can eat. Every year, Summer's extended family comes over to their house to have dinner. Summer gets to see her cousins. Her best friend cousin, Avery, always hangs out with Summer. Some of her other family even flies in from other states to see them on Christmas Day, some years. Either way, Summer always had a great Christmas with her family.
