Tuesday
"La la la la la la. La! La! La!" Cassie shouted.
"Cassie!" Summer pleaded.
"I'm not listening to what you have to say, doody face. La! La! La!" Cassie danced around the hall stupidly with her hands plugged in her ears.
"Cassidy! I wanna talk to you."
"Um. What's wrong with your friend?" Cole asked Summer.
"Cole, go somewhere else." She swatted her hand at him in annoyance.
"I'm just asking." Cole shrugged his shoulders and left for homeroom.
"Poop bag!" Summer shouted after him. "Loser," she mumbled.
It was Tuesday morning, when they had PE. Mrs. Henning was making them run laps on the podium at the end since they finished their invasion games unit reflections.
"Ughhh..." Summer grumbled.
Cassidy was about ten feet behind her, trying to stay as far away from Summer as possible.
Summer was scrambled after class, trying to change as quickly as possible, get out of the changing rooms, and away from Cassidy.
"Gosh. I can't believe that girl," Summer said to herself as she stormed out of the changing rooms. However, as she did, Summer banged into a girl with perfectly curled, pink hair.
"Hey," the girl said.
"Sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going," Summer said guiltily.
"Well... It's alright, I guess. I'm clumsy too."
"I am the queen of clumsy," Summer blurted.
"You're pretty cool. Wanna sit with me and my friends at lunch?"
"Yeah. Sure."
"I'm Lexi, BTW."
"I'm Summer."
Lexi and Summer walked out of the changing rooms together. They were laughing and talking. It was like they became instant friends.
"LOL! I totally remember that meme." Lexi stubbled around the hall as she laughed.
"IKR! It like blew up all over Insta," Summer agreed.
"What do you like to do for fun?" Lexi asked.
"Hmm... Well, I like to talk. I love listening to music on my speaker I have in my room. I love BLACKPINK! They are so awesome and everything. I also like sleeping and hanging with friends."
"OMG! That's so cool," Lexi said.
Lexi arrived at the lunch table with Summer and they sat down. Summer looked around at the people and recognized some of them, but there was one in particular that she knew she saw before.
"Bianca?!" Summer shouted, startled.
"Oh... Summer right?" Bianca said.
"Wait. What are you doing here?"
"These are my friends." Lexi was sitting across from Bianca and other people were sitting near them. There were mostly girls and the table, but also a small bunch of guys. Probably their boyfriends. Summer could tell right away that this was the popular table. With the cool, sassy girls and the other boys/their boyfriends. Even though Cole was just as popular as these people and was friends with most of them, he still liked sitting with Brett and his other more "normal" friends.
"Three o'clock, hottie..." Bianca sighed. Summer turned her head and saw Cole walking with his tray towards Summer.
"Hey, just wanted to see if you're going to sit with us." Cole motioned towards a guilty-looking Cassidy and an enthusiastic-looking Brett.
"I wanna maybe sit with my new friends, ya know..." Summer actually wanted some time away from Cassidy.
"Kay..." Cole frowned and his forest green eyes turned slightly dull. He turned around and headed towards the other table. He stopped, turning around again to face Summer, and blew her a small kiss.
"Ooh, who's that Summer?" Lexi teased.
"Cole," Summer said, like it was obvious. A shade of pink started blooming on her cheeks.
