Wednesday Gymnastic Championships

"Cassie!" Summer screamed as she ran towards Cassidy, dressed in a gymnastics leotard.

"I'm so nervous," Cassidy said, trembling.

"It's ok, I'm sure you'll do great!" Summer said enthusiastically.

"Cassidy Foxter!" the speakers blared. Summer gave Cassidy a thumbs up as Cassidy ran up to the uneven bars. There was applause and Cassidy began her swinging routine. In the end, she landed perfectly in the middle. Almost everyone stood up and clapped. Cassidy bowed and the judges announced their score for Cassidy. "It's a 9.92!" Everyone screamed.

"Good job, Cassidy!" Summer said, hugging her friend. "You're a star!"

"Thanks for supporting me."

"You did great out there."

Cassidy swung her gym bag onto her shoulders and headed for the showers. Brett ran up to Cassidy.

"Great job, Cassidy!" Brett said, congratulating her. He hugged her.

"Wait, you invited him?" Summer said, shocked.

"No, I just told him where I would be. I guess he came to see me." Cassidy turned to Brett. "Thanks, Brett."

"You guys are a good couple," Summer said.

Cassidy covered Summer's mouth. "Shut. Up." She smiled awkwardly. "Sorry."

"What did you say, Summer?" Brett asked.

"She said nothing. Summer, meet me over there by the exit. We can have lunch together. I just... gotta... look over there. At scores. Yea. Totally. Bye." Cassidy pushed her friend away.

"Okay?!" Summer waddled away.

"So, what are you doing after this?" Cassidy asked Brett.

"Oh, I'm meeting up with Cole to play basketball. You wanna join?"

"Sorry, but Summer and I have something planned already."

"Ok, see you tomorrow then." Brett walked to the exit.

Cassidy blushed then danced around.

Summer ran back to where Cassidy stood. "Why are you dancing?"

"I'm just happy that I got a good score."

"Why's your face red then?" Summer said, eyes crossed.

"My face turns red when I'm happy."

"I have been your friend since fourth grade! I know that isn't true. Liar, liar pants on fire."

"Ugh... Fine. I like Brett and he talked to me."
