Friday

Summer scrambled off her bed. She groaned as she staggered into the bathroom. "Hang in there, it's almost Saturday," Summer told her groggy self and started getting ready for school. She attempted to run her comb smoothly into her hair, but it just got tangled in a web of hair.

Cole dragged himself to the mirror in his bathroom. "Hey, handsome," he said to his reflection. He ran his hands through his tangled matted hair. Then reached for his large tube of hair gel sitting on the counter nearby.

COLE: Wanna go and hang out at the shopping mall near here after school?

SUMMER: Y? Any specific reason?

COLE: I need to buy a tie.

SUMMER: Kay? But y do u need me?

COLE: Company and also I need to know the specific shade of yellow.

COLE: I'll just go spam Cassidy...

SUMMER: COLE!!

COLE: btw, do u want me to walk u to school?

SUMMER: Sure... If u still wanna...

COLE: Yeah.

COLE: i'm coming wait for me 😘😏

Cole sped all the way to Summer's house even though it was like four blocks away from his. When he got to her neighborhood, he took his headphone off of his head with one hand and looked up. Summer looked like she was shouting at her sister about something. She was pointing at something in the middle of the road.

"Oh my gosh! You immature, little baby. Why are you so clumsy? Why do you have to walk so weird? You just dropped your whole lunch in the middle of the road! It's so dangerous. Dropped all your textbooks. I told you to put them in your bag!" But when she saw him, she stopped yelling and walked in front of the speeding bike. Cole squeezed the breaks and the whole bike jerked forward.

"Whoa," Cole said, his eyes wide open. "She was yelling to Amber about dropping things in the middle of the road. But she is yelling at her in the middle of the road. I'm not gonna tell her though," Cole thought to himself.

"Why are you not wearing gear?" Summer said, acting like Cole's mom. She put her hands on her hips.

"Stop it. Stop trying to annoy me, Mom," Cole said, rolling his eyes.
