Sunday Evening

Cole ran up the front of Summer's house just as the car had stopped. Before he had reached the door to ring the doorbell, Summer opened it and embraced Cole in a hug.

"Hi, Summer," Cole whispered into her ear. Behind him, he could hear Dan chuckling.

"Aw... That's so sweet of you, Summer to hug Cole like that," Kristen squealed. After hearing this, Summer abruptly pulled away from Cole who turned around and glared at Kristen. She just shrugged.

"Please, do come in," Mrs. Zaayer said in a high-pitched tone. "Sweetie, help me set the table, please," Mrs. Zaayer begged her younger daughter.

"Coming, Mom!" Amber said as she giggled, a camera hanging around her neck.

"The food's ready?" Mrs. Pheonixson asked, surprised.

"Yes, of course, Jennifer. We don't want our guests to be waiting," Mrs. Zaayer said, smiling.

"Amber, what's so funny?" Summer asked her sister as they sat down at the dining table.

"Nothing," Amber said, covering her mouth.

"Amber. Tell. Me," Summer said, forcing her.

"Fine, I'll tell you later."

Summer turned to Cole and patted the chair next to her. Cole came and sat down.

"Are you going to sing?" Summer laughed.

"No," Cole said firmly.

"Dan, is Cole good at singing?" Summer turned to Dan and asked him.

"He rarely sings. If he sings, he's giving you a treat. His singing is so awesome," Dan said, exaggerating.

"Oh, cool," Summer said, turning towards Cole again to find that his head was turned the other way.

After dinner, everyone moved their butts to the living room, while Amber and Mrs. Zaayer cleared the table.

All the adults sat on the couches, while the kids sat on the floor. Amber sat with her tablet, playing Roblox. "You're angry at me right?" Summer asked cautiously.

"Can you see?" Cole snapped.

"Well, I just wanted to ask your brother. He said you're pretty good at singing. I just want to hear it."

Cole sighed.

"Please?!"

"Later," Cole said flatly. Summer leaned forward and started whispering "please" in his ear over and over again.

"What are you doing?" Cole asked, feeling uncomfortable.

Summer giggled. She turned to face Amber. "Hey, buddy, you told me you would show me something."

"Later!" She had her eyes glued to her tablet screen. "Get out of the way, gooch lady!" Amber yelled at the screen.

"What are you playing?"

"Why do you care?"

"I'm your sister! I should be able to know these things. Or else."

"Or else what?"

"I'll tell mom that you take your tablet into the bathroom with you?"

"What? Your sister does that?" Cole said covering his mouth

"Yes, I'm sure mom would love to find out that little piece of info," Summer said with an evil smirk.

"No way. Don't you tell her! I'll get banned! I would be grounded forever," Amber screamed at her sister.
