Saturday Night

"OMG!" Avery exclaimed. "You literally never said anything about a boyfriend! When were you gonna tell me?"

"He's just my friend." Summer rolled her eyes.

"You legit wanted him to kiss you. You were cuddling up next to him too," Avery teased.

"Avery..."

"I'm just saying what I observed."

"So you heard and saw everything we did?"

"Wow, you really think that I wouldn't notice anything? And you guys were basically doing everything in front of my face!"

"You and your fat face."

"You guys are so cute," Avery continued to tease Summer.

"Did you know that he had a girlfriend when you saw him on Friday?"

"Hmm... at first... no. But, then he told me. But I still tried to kiss him. I only ended up doing it on his cheek. I was aiming for his lips."

"How?! Why? He's my boyfriend!" Summer fumed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't realize you had a boyfriend. And that he was your boyfriend. I learned my lesson. It could've hurt another girl too. I shouldn't have been so selfish. Forgive me?"

"Yeah, Avery."

"Thanks, Sum."

"I mean... I'm mad, but... showing it and holding a grudge won't help. Believe me. I did it to Cassie and... it didn't work."

"Your boyfriend's cute. Girls probs wanna hang out with him all the time." Avery smiled.

"Dude... Back. Off. Ok?" Summer steamed.

"Got it," Avery replied.

Summer and Avery watched Stranger Things. After a while, Avery started to get bored from rewatching the same episodes.

"What about... something weird... but we could give it a shot," Summer said.

"I'm open to anything," Avery said.

"Chef!" Summer ran to get her plastic food and cooking items from the closet in the hallway. Avery and Summer played chef and restaurant for a couple of hours. They quickly packed up before Mrs. Zaayer or Amber returned home.

"Girls! Come down for dinner!" Mrs. Zaayer called.

The Zaayers sat down at the table and prayed.

"So, did you finish your project with Cole?" Mrs. Zaayer asked.

"Yep," Summer replied and reached for the mashed potatoes.

"What did you do afterward?" Mrs. Zaayer asked again.

"Talked and ate."

"Did Cole leave yet?"

"Obvi, Mom."

"Attitude, young lady," Mrs. Zaayer warned.

"Oh my goodness! This mashed potato is killin' it, man!" Avery exclaimed.

"Thank you?" Mrs. Zaayer was really confused. She didn't speak modern, cool teen.

"Yo! IKR!" Summer said, just to confuse her mother.

"Can you girls, please, speak. English," Mrs. Zaayer said.

"Yea, Mamá," Avery said.

"What up, Man!" Summer said.

"I GTG eat my mash potato that dope."

"BTW, IKR. They lit. TTYL."

"Mashed potatoes is the bomb. That's the tea, sis," Avery giggled.

"Oh, Avery, do you want some tea? We have some," Mrs. Zaayer asked their guest.

Summer and Avery just burst into a bundle of laughter.

After dinner, Avery and Summer hung out in Summer's room. They wanted to play chef again, but Amber was there and she would tease them. Instead, they listened to music.

"Hey, girl. Have you heard Lovesick Girls?" Summer asked.

"Nope," Avery said. "Do you like fangirl over BLACKPINK."

"No... Well, maybe a little. A... just a little. More a little... more than a... little," Summer said, giggling.

"I've heard of their album, but I haven't listened to it yet." Avery flumped down on Summer's bed.

"Yo! It's like the best! Lovesick Girls is my absolute fav!"

"Good for you. I prefer Ariana Grande. She's my fav."

"Listen to it!" Summer demanded.

Summer went on her Spotify and selected Lovesick Girls from her Best Songs playlist. She started dancing around her room and singing along to the words.

"We are the lovesick giiirls! Ne meottaero nae salangeul kkeunnael sun eopseo!" Summer burst.

"So you are definitely not obsessed with them, right?" Avery raised her eyebrows.

"Obvi not!" Summer continued to sing along to the lyrics.

After a couple of hours, Avery's parents came to pick her up.

"Bye, cuz!" Summer called.

"Hope things go well with Co-... you know who!" Avery called back.

"Shut up!" Summer shouted.

"Haha."
