I threw myself back into my bed, basking in the feeling of comfort the last twelve hours have given me.

Dream POV

It was thursday. I was picking George up. The last two days we spent chilling and talking. We watched movies and played games. I entertained.

I even watched him play Minecraft on my laptop. Yes, he wasn't as good, but it was a George thing to do and it made me happy that he was doing it.

Nick is worried. About me. About us. He thinks I'm trying to find a version of George that doesn't exist anymore. But it does. It's in there. I know it.

He just needs time.

I don't know why Nick's given up so easily. Yes, the statistics are low, but this is George we're talking about. He should never have even woken up in the first place but look where we are.

---

It was midday and I turned up to George's door for what felt like the a millionth time in a row. It never gets boring, though. I always know he'd greet me with a smile and I'd just immediately melt.

"Hey, dummy. You ready to go?"

"I think so." he held his bags and shuffled towards the door with me. He turned and pretended to cry, wiping his eyes dramatically. "Goodbye room."

I rolled my eyes and couldn't help but laugh at him.

"Who do we have to talk to? To get you out of this place."

"Over here."

I let him guide me to the front of the ward and he stood talking to nurses, signing papers, nodding and agreeing to future appointments. I sat and watched him, amazed. He was so organized. He was so beautiful. I couldn't help but stare.

He finished talking and turned to me, quicker than I expected so he caught me staring.

"Like the view?" he teased.

"Yes. So very much."

He couldn't reply. Instead he blushed and grabbed my hand. After waving goodbye to his favourite nurse, we finally breached the big exit doors.

He stood for a second, breathing in the fresh air, relishing in his new found freedom. I grinned at him. George was free.

It was raining, but only slightly. Small drops gathered on his perfect skin and he twirled a little, celebrating.

"This feels good."

"As it should. Let's go, baby. We have places to be."

"Okay, okay. Less of the 'baby', handsome. We're taking things slow, remember."

"What the fuck, George?" we both laughed. "I can't call you baby but you can make me blush? You can call me handsome?"

"I pull the reigns here, pretty boy." he smirked at me, grabbing my hands and pulling me close to him.

"Okay. I see now. Fuck you." but I was smiling. He'd pulled me in so I was looking down on him, barely inches away from his face. He was looking away, not as in he was uncomfortable, he looked nervous.

"Home?" I asked.

"Home."

Again, I wasn't driving because of the accident so we walked our way home. It was peaceful, we kept light conversation.
