Ch'en was the type of person who will get her job done at whatever the cost. This trait has led her to both good and bad things. Now it is what is driving her to keep moving forward towards where her target people currently are despite having to go across one of the sections of the cafeteria. She already had her dinner though.
It won't be that hard for her on a normal day, and especially that she's full now, but this time is different. Not one, but atleast two, or maybe even more familiar scents are attracting her to get into the facility everyone likes and needs, her favorite foods. But whatever, she still had one more thing to do.
She reached the end of the hallway where the elevator was and stopped in front of its outside button control panel. She picked the floor which was the second floor down from where she's in currently.
———
"What's taking this thing so long...?" Ch'en whispered to herself as she took a step back away from the elevator doors.
A dozen seconds had already passed and the doors still haven't opened yet.
She is already getting pissed for a couple of reasons: This simple errand is supposed to be fast, since it is simple.... alright. The second is that, there are some people she'd rather not see.
"What, it's not like there are lots of people out this late at night.." She muttered again.
Whether the first person who used the elevator already got to their destination or the elevator took pity on her doesn't matter now, the doors finally slided to the side and she immediately went inside.
Pressing another button from inside the elevator, Ch'en waited for the doors to close and decided to lean on the panel way at the back of the car, crossing her arms afterwards.
She reaches her destination. The doors opened again and she walked out of the elevator before proceeding into another hallway. The hallways never changed their appearance except for those in large facilities like the infirmary.
Ch'en stopped by the entrance of a room with blue linings on the edges of the sliding doors. These color coded lines are what tells people what room they are about to enter or just what facility are they going to pass.
She pressed on the intercom and spoke to the mic. "This is Ch'en. I'll be in charge of changing shifts tonight. I'm coming in."
She didn't have to wait long for the doors in front to open.
Releasing her hand from the intercom, Ch'en went inside the trading post, the sounds of the distinct machines only found at these types of facilities immediately went into her ears.
Walking to greet her was one of the two persons assigned to this trading post — a black haired lupo.
"Madam.." Texas, the black haired lupo said to her as they both stopped walking simultaneously.
"I came to inform you, before you end your shift today that we will have guests tomorrow." Ch'en gave the straight answer.
"Guests?" Texas inquired.
"Looks like you are not too informed?"
"No, it's just.." Texas whispered before concealing her hand away from a red haired sankta who's busy working behind her.
Ch'en got what she meant and so did the red haired angel.
"Hmm? Ohh, Madam? Good evening!" Exusiai the red haired sankta greets as she places down another package in the conveyor belt to be delivered out of Rhodes Island.
Ch'en simply nodded.
Exusiai got curious as to what Ch'en has to say and so she stopped working for now and walked up to the two.
