Bent Fate (An Arknights Fanfiction)

Chapter 9

A/N: I apologize for a few grammatical errors, don't have much time lately.... It's another short chapter :D

"Uhh...."

Texas turned to look at Exusiai who was not far behind her, stopping herself as they were walking towards the roof deck where the helipads are, where they will meet a new ally.

They weren't in much of a rush this morning, the members of Penguin Logistics are all early birds most of the time.

"Forgot something?" Texas asked to her friend.

"You're the one who forgets all the time."

Texas thought about what the sankta said. "Not always."

Exusiai smirked while looking at the lupo, knowing even Texas herself was not a hundred percent sure that she won't forget things every time.

"So why did you stop walking?" Texas asked her again.

"Hmm, you really think just the two of us can handle all the incoming cargo huh? You should know that these new guests are having their first day here. We should be expecting alot of baggage."

Once again she thought about Exusiai's explanation.

"We can just call the others if they are needed." Texas said in an argument with what Exusiai is suggesting with her explanation. "Besides, we are almost there, why go back now? Come on."

Exusiai didn't speak and just went along with her wolf friend as they continued on their way to meet BlueWing.

"Where are they?" Exusiai asks no one as there are only a few people on the roof deck when they arrived, said people are all busy and dozens of meters away too.

There were personnel doing maintenance on the some aircraft that are scheduled to take off soon. A squad of combat operators arrived shortly after Texas and Exusiai and boarded the two helicopters waiting on the helipads.

"They're doing another recon." Exusiai randomly said.

The two PL employees went closer to inspect.

"Excuse me, BlueWing isn't here yet?" Texas asked a male perro who appears to be a technician due to his uniform, complete with protective gear.

"BlueWing? Ahh, those new guys, nope. No sign of them being nearby." The perro answered to her.

"We came too early." Exusiai commented while stretching her arms up before putting her hands together at the back of her head.

"Yeah we did I suppose."

The perro then looked like he was looking for something else behind the two.

"Wait, it's just you two?" He asked.

"Yeah, why do you ask?" Texas answered with her own question.

"You know how much stuff people tend to bring along with them at the first day of a long stay in."

Texas was silent.

"Told you so..." Texas heard from Exusiai as she faced the sankta, halfway expecting it.

She turned to the perro again who was just standing at the same spot, waiting for further questions.

"We'll just wait for them. Thank you." Texas said as she excuses the both of them before walking away, Exusiai following close by.

The perro stared at the lupo for a moment before shrugging his shoulders. Maybe he was thinking how strong Texas thinks of herself.

The two PL employees went to a catwalk not too far from where the helicopters are. The catwalk only had an elevation of two feet from the flooring the two are currently walking on.
