The way to the thoroughfare took quite a short time, for a mile long distance. Within that time, however, it is the first five minutes of the drive that the DSG felt like not just a few minutes have passed as they were chased by falling debris and an expanding cloud of dust and smoke, and the tower slams itself into the ground behind them.

The city's plates in which they were driving on can only withstand so much weight suddenly crashing on the surface. One side of the road behind them is sinking, prompting all the drivers to push the gas pedal into the floor as the cracks chased them. If only their feet can push it any further past the floor to get faster with the short time they have, they would.

Engines roaring. The more vocal operators screaming and yelling, oftentimes indistinguishable to (Y/N). The rumbling city. His ears didn't know where to focus on.

All of the operators with him trust the Doctor's judgement, but with his decision to demolish the tower, saying they didn't feel scared in the slightest would be an outright lie, some of them have been used to lying about emotions, and a few have been through worse stuff before, though, another lie wouldn't hurt.

Soon the last stories of the tower came into collision with the ground, with the gun at the top of it plunging deep into the plate, the gun itself not even bending from the pressure.

All vehicles slowed down as they got some more distance from the clouds of smoke at the back, but kept driving forward.

(Y/N)'s breath wasn't as heavy as the operators, but his heart sure is racing as much as theirs.

"Whew, what a ride..." Blaze huffed.

"What were you thinking trying to pull that off, Doc?!" Gavial raised her hand, ready to smack the Doctor's head, but she's holding herself back.

(Y/N), surprisingly quick, grabs Gavial's arm, holding it in place before she can swing her palm towards him if she ever intends to. "I was hoping, we could block any reinforcements going around the wall's northern segment."

Gavial's angered look fades.

"Well, there you have it," Ch'en voices from the driver's seat. "That wreck successfully covered like five streets. Either you are exaggerating with the height of the tower, or those streets are where precisely they will arrive at."

"It's the latter..." (Y/N) briefly answered, making Blaze and Gavial exchange glances. "You see the fourth one? It's wider than the rest of the roads connecting to our route."

Ch'en raises her chin, a gesture that's barely recognizable with them being inside a moving vehicle.

"Huh, if they still have any reinforcements to rely on after all that, just how many people do they have?" Gavial asked.

"They probably number around the thousands, but rapidly losing that number as well." Matterhorn suggests. "I'm amazed by your observations, Doctor, the roads here aren't so easy to follow with only the eyes."

(Y/N) sighed. "I didn't even know about it until we were going down from the control room."

He massages his forehead, as the four of them shared a little moment of laughter.

"Doctor..." Ch'en calls, interrupting them.

It's as if the lung wants to turn and look at them, but she is the driver.

(Y/N) leans forward to look at the road ahead, his eyes seeing a person he never expected to be here, given their circumstances.

"Amiya?" Blaze questions herself as she also took a peek.
