"It was four hours ago when the order came for us to be deployed on three major sites around the Reunion-occupied districts. Now, about an hour later, the first of our squads were ordered to rally here at the central road. And in thirty minutes, my team had received the redeployment order. At the same time, Franka's squad gave chase to someone who allegedly was one of Reunion's commanders."
"I swear, I wasn't going after the wrong person." Franka insisted as Ch'en finished her analysis.
The three of them, including Blaze, have been discussing around a pile of metal crates, with a tablet on top of it that had a map of the northern part of the mobile city on display.
There are multiple red dots on the map, with three significantly larger dots arranged in a way that they would form a curve.
Ch'en points at the large dot in the middle. "So are we saying they are likely going to pierce through this highway and take the heart of the city?"
"Sure? But you know, they wouldn't be able to take down Chernobog if they're this suicidal with their tactics." Franka advised.
"Where I was initially deployed, the surrounding suburbs were basically ghost towns. Except for a few who failed to evacuate immediately, we didn't find anything else." Ch'en said as she lifts her finger from hovering over the screen.
"Sounds like they'll do a.. epic charge this time." Blaze commented.
"Very helpful." Franka nods as she looked at the feline.
"You're welcome!"
The vulpo sighed as she rubbed her forehead. Her one arm is supported by the other hugging her waist as she does. "What happened to our little bunny anyway?"
Ch'en looks at her terminal. "Nothing from her until now."
"I'm so happy my job assignments has more to do with fighting than negotiating with bigshots."
"You nailed it." Blaze said as she did a fast pointing gesture towards Franka.
The latter giggled while Ch'en is thinking of options they could take.
"Not everyone in the city's army could be as arrogant... but with the one we're working right now, he wants us to stay, we will stay, no recon."
"Ch'en? Got anything?" Blaze called. Both her and Franka now looking at the lung.
"Normally, you will send recon teams to see the enemy's movement and to study them carefully. But doing it in the situation we are in, feels like it will get us thrown to jail."
"Naturally." Franka agreed. "Or you could be allowed into Reunion territory and not get any support from the locals or worse. No going back."
"We don't need any assistance when doing simple recon. Just that it really would be the instantaneous end of our agreement."
Blaze clears her throat, calling the other two's attention. "I'll be right there." She tells them while pointing her thumb to the rest of the Rhodes Islanders several meters behind her.
"You're not leaving yet." Franka speaks her disagreement with a calm but deep tone on her voice.
"Why not? I'm no good at these big brain stuff, really."
"And you think we have big brains about this entire live mystery show?"
Blaze scratches her head. "Do you want some water, then?"
Both sighed, and nodded at her.
"Alright, I promise you, I'll be back." She said while walking backwards and pointing at them.
