(A/N: I just want to believe there are fully automatic crossbows in Terra :P)
The convoy goes around to the back of the factories. All three vehicles stopped, and the passengers of Mostima's camper and those inside the third van immediately steps out of the vehicles.
"Hold." Ch'en orders everyone as they were about to pass by each other. She repeats with a louder voice, "Hold it. D.S.G.!"
Mostima rolls down her window, staring at the back of her van through the side mirror.
The lead vehicle's back doors are pushed open by Silesia and Matterhorn.
Once confirming everyone could hear her, Ch'en starts, but then decides to ask first.
"Cut off all communications. And I mean, turn them off."
The operators did a quick check of their gadgets, most of them are turned off.
"Turn that off." Mostima orders Suffering, her liberi friend, as she shuts her own phone down.
Suffering sighs, "Look, I'm not a part of your team, and my devices are secured."
Mostima gazes at her after the confident statement. "You can never be so sure, no?"
"What's the point? You were all still using electronics for almost the whole time you were hiding."
The sankta looked up, "Right. Uh, I mean"—
"We are using electronics when inside the populated areas, and in a few instances, while in this area as well. Even if they can track us down and decide to come find us, we have stripped off anything on our clothes that represent Rhodes Island." Texas intervenes. She has already stepped into a seat at the back of the camper. "But there's just a small chance of it happening. A cluster of electronic signals moving in what has been designated as restricted area is a different story. Especially if the only people permitted to enter the area are the armed forces."
"I didn't know you are getting good at explaining things." Mostima compliments.
"You're always gone, who else in close proximity can have a chance at convincing her?" the lupo explains, making Mostima internally question herself whether she's being insulted or not.
"And you're telling me we are in a restricted area accessible solely by the city's army, and you have been setting camp here for days?" Suffering doubtfully asks.
"We did, the Blacksteels are security experts so passing through most defenses is easy for them, and when it's our turn, we are a two-man team, so"— realizing Mostima is smiling and attentively listening, Texas loses the confidence and sits back. "Nevermind, just turn off your device before I destroy it."
Suffering frowns, but Mostima stops her from frowning too long. "Careful, she really would."
The liberi turns her devices off. Looking up again, she just noticed the others were looking at them through the open back doors.
"You good?" Ch'en asks.
"Yeah!" Exusiai confirms with a thumbs up.
Ch'en is visibly shaking her head as she turns her back on them.
"This is the one time we are going to clear things up!" she starts.
In a forest, all you could hear are the leaves crashing against each other as the wind blows through them. There are the sound of the fauna living in the ecosystem, most noticeable are the birds on the trees or above the skies with their loud chirps.
With the forest outside the southwest gate of the northern district, there are the sound of birds only. The walls are too high to let the winds with its current and ever-changing direction to meet the trees.
