The vehicles flipped on their sides, slamming into the road just the same as (Y/N) did.

His arms instinctively went around his head as he curled, or tried to crawl away.

He wasn't sure what he was doing, but he had to get away.

White noise took over his ears. That's all he can hear as he sees a large fireball fading before him into a cloud of black smoke.

Soon, he starts coughing.

He covers his face with his arm while crawling away from the overturned vehicles and the source of wood splinters and other debris raining on him.

Couldn't hear anything, can't look away where his eyes are currently staring at in shock, his feet keeps pushing himself on the road.

After going almost two lanes wide from the side walk, he stands on his shaky legs, catching the operators in the corner of his eyes, running around. He waddles towards them and falls after a few steps as another more distant explosion sets off, probably somewhere behind him.

It's as if for a moment, he forgot that he wasn't alone, and now he can see them again; Texas and Exusiai jumping from the rooftop to avoid sniper fire, and Jessica and Liskarm firing at a side street, with Meteorite joining in.

Gavial throws Ch'en down the middle of the road near (Y/N). Coughing, the medic falls on her knees.

The white noise starts to wear off, but he still can't understand what the archosaurian woman was shouting.

On the other side, Cyclone squad has already formed up across the width of the street, with Sierra on their side as well, shouting at (Y/N)'s direction.

(Y/N) turns his head to the other side again, where Rigel takes the rest of his team towards the direction Liskarm and other snipers are firing at, riding their motorcycles.

The black smoke is all that's left of the building, but the ground keeps rumbling beneath his arm and legs.

A pair of hands holds his arms from behind, trying to lift him up. He helps by pushing himself up with his feet.

His ears starts hearing other sounds clearer, and he can hear Matterhorn's hurried voice.

— "Let's go Doc, let's go!"

Gavial moves in front of (Y/N) as he is pulled away. "Doctor, can you hear us?!"

She looks back for a moment, murmuring what is most likely a swear as Ch'en ran off with her sword out.

"DOCTOR!" Matterhorn raised his voice.

"Who..."

"They saw sarkaz mercenaries!" the forte answers (Y/N).

He groans as he sets the Doctor down on the pavement across the street.

Gavial's hands quickly went over his head, down to his arms, checking him for any more serious injuries. "Go now, I got this!"

Matterhorn nods before running back across the street to retrieve his sword and shield.

"Bruises only, Doc." Gavial huffs. "Are you alright now?"

"What was that...?" he asks.

"The bolt came from..." she stops, looking up at the overhanging roof above. "Well, shit."

He looks up, at her gritted teeth as Gavial hurries to get him up on his feet, grabbing his arm. "We shouldn't have brought you here!"

Exusiai and Texas comes running towards them, but stops. Exusiai fires her gun above the roof the two temporarily took shelter in, with Texas changing course and running away, keeping close to the side of the road.
