Chapter 40.3

(Y/N) brings his hand down to his side.

The rest of the enemy defenders felt shaken to him, seeing they managed to take down their comrade.

He gulped, shouting, "Keep pressuring them!"

After giving the order, (Y/N) ran to the closest operators.

"YOU!!" a Reunion defender shouted as he saw the Doctor.

The man moves in (Y/N)'s way, completely ignoring the operators he's been fending off.

"DOCTOR (Y/N), FALL BACK!" one of the operators cried out as their team charged to attack.

(Y/N)'s hesitation quickly rose to high levels, suddenly wanting to turn away.

A crack then appeared seemingly out of nowhere in the middle of the visor of the giant in front of him.

The man stopped moving and stood still for a few seconds. He slowly went down on his knees and to the ground.

"Who's doing this?!" a doubtful operator asked with a nervous voice.

(Y/N) circles around the bulky corpse and joins the operators.

"Their on our side, don't worry." he told him.

He leaves the operator still confused and goes to Cyclone's side, the latter was facing off against another defender together with Silesia.

"HEY!" (Y/N) called as he ran to them.

The perro steps back as a shield was raised high above him.

The defender hammers it down, only to be blocked by Onyx with her own shield. The latter then deflected it to the side and aims the tip of her shield, before firing another beam upwards through the defender's head.

Looking at this, (Y/N) thought, "We're not as hopeless as I thought, huh..."

"Go talk to him." Onyx told her team leader before running to aid the other operators.

Cyclone comes up to him, sheathing his sword. "What is it?"

"Alright, so... I need you all to have those Reunion facing northwest." (Y/N) ordered.

— Some 400 meters from (Y/N)'s group —

A group of Reunion soldiers stood on one side of the intersection, scattered enough to block entry on all six lanes.

On the opposite side, Blaze stood closer to the center.

She holds a steady gaze on the Reunion members who are still alive.

She counted all of them in silence. "Just a little over a dozen."

On her one hand, she holds her chainsaw relatively loose as part of its teeth is touching the road's surface.

"Hey, uh, why did we stop?" she asked aloud.

For a few seconds, she heard no direct answer to her question. Instead, she got a bunch of muttered exchanges among the enemies.

"... We're not complete fools." one finally tells her. A man who's dressed like all his other comrades. "We can't take you down like this."

Blaze blows air out of her mouth as she placed her free hand at her waist. "You're killing all the fun..."

"No. We're done playing with you!" the soldier shouted, putting one foot forward.

The man shouted so loud she could feel the echoes.

She loses her smile, which wasn't a genuine one anyway. "Man, you sound like a kid. You totally do..."

"Blaze, let's end this already..!" one of the two Rhodes Islanders she brought along urges through their radios while positioned on top of a building.
