(A/N: Arrogant onis)

Dawn.

The sun begins to rise from the east, once again starting a new day.

Atop of the lower walls extending from the higher ones that protect the entirety of Nansei from the world outside, the soldiers looked at the direction of the northern district, most of which is still untouched by the rising sun.

Some of the soldiers are walking around, distributing rations from the makeshift kitchen they built on the wall, while some do more personal things like practicing their swordsmanship, or cleaning their equipment.

At one part of the wall, there is a gathering of soldiers, with a senior officer pacing in front of them, giving orders with his voice loud enough to wake up anyone who is still asleep, though everyone in this place belongs to the army, and people in the army would never be late at getting up first before the sun.

It is like the yin-yang symbol, in a way. One side is brightly illuminated by the populace, while the other is as dark as the most uninhabited places on Terra on a starless night. The core of the northern district is an exception, having a considerable amount of light in certain places.

Without the sun, there is nothing worth gazing at over the north. But not for the soldiers.

A man sits in the middle of the grayish-white concrete, having his cup of tea. He is not alone. Together with his comrades, they take in the dark view of a city, but it's not just anywhere in the dark area. Their eyes are concentrated to the far west, toward the severely damaged bridge connecting the north to the center, and vice versa.

They would always entertain themselves by watching the skirmishes in that area, visible from where they are thanks to the elevation. They would see sometimes violent explosions, that to them, looked so harmless.

"Nothing to see there again, huh..." the first soldier comments.

"It's been two days now. Perhaps they finally figured it out for themselves, they may have broken into the north, but that's the farthest those animals could go." the soldier next to him brags. "Central should have just shot the places where the animals are gathering, we could literally kill a hundred birds with one stone."

"We could do that, and there will be no problem for all of us, we can finally go home."

The first soldier gets a tap on the back from his comrade. "See what I mean? There's not even a risk to it. We would just show them how wrong they are, coming here."

"Maybe they have better plans, some of our weapons would need a great amount of fortune only to fire a single shot. Add the complex maintenance of the systems."

"And the infected just uses them for free now."

"The two on the north won't last long."

The men's eyes shift a little bit to the right, where they see some other soldiers looking down the wall on the northern side.

Curious, they stand up and approached the others.

"What's going on?"

Looking over, they see white figures moving around the streets just a hundred meters from the gate of the wall.

"These infected are so braindead, who would use white as camouflage?" a soldier expressed his annoyance.

The soldiers began telling their opinions, or insults, about the Reunion soldiers to their peers.

They laughed at their jokes, some held on to their stomachs as they asked more stupid questions they deem just appropriate with the stupid decisions made by the infected below them.
