(A/N: Yo I went past due date again xD... anyway... here it is~)
An hour passes with (Y/N) and the operators still on the highway, driving across different sectors. His eyes stared out the window on the other side of the truck. It can be painful if he tries to turn his neck to look through the one on his side.
From time to time, he can see Blaze at the corner of his eye as she is seated close to this window. The feline is glancing at him every now and then.
"Must be a little worried about my quietness.."
He is seated in the middle of Matterhorn and Flamebringer.
He feels like looking at the latter, for he is one of the sure reasons Blaze might be getting anxious about the Doctor's silence.
There's nothing else to hear, aside from the rumbling of the engine and external sounds loud enough to penetrate the soundproofing of the van.
You just have to entertain your visual senses.
Through the window, (Y/N) watches the transition between the buildings as they sped through.
One moment there were skyscrapers near and far, with the sun shining on their glass frames, and the next moment it will be an array of giant power plant chimneys.
The things constant throughout this view are the green plants and the light posts along the road.
"I could use some bigger windows..." he thought and sighed.
He gazed near the backdoor, at Gavial. She had her elbows resting on her knees, her chin placed firmly and held up on one open palm as she was staring at the floor.
It's their first day, and they already look like this.
These are frontline operators he's riding with, but all of them look troubled, not in the mood to talk.
A crackling sound of a radio was all it took to grab most of their attention.
They looked at Ch'en, who holds on to her radio.
The voice that then came from the other end was Exusiai's, "Hello? Captain of D.S.G.-dash-D.?"
"You don't need to include the 'dash' one."
Ch'en acknowledged, "I'm listening."
"There, so the place is ready. What are we calling this?"
The lung didn't answer.
"What to call?" Gavial asked.
Blaze raised her suggestion, "Like a callsign?"
"What do you mean by that?" Ch'en asks back at the sankta.
"Oh, like we at Penguin Logistics we name our special places so that our rivals don't easily find us. Like we have this bar back in Lungmen called the Ends of the Earth."
"That sounds fun..." said Blaze.
"We don't need that." Ch'en tells Exusiai.
The sankta was quick to accept, "I guess that was just a suggestion, okay, got it!"
Static noise followed, and then a beep from another device on Texas's side.
The lupo fiddles on something out of (Y/N)'s sight, "I have the specified location."
"I—"
The truck makes a sudden left turn, throwing (Y/N) off his seat as he was about to speak.
On instinct, he threw his arms away from his body to hold first into the floor, but he is stopped midway as both Matterhorn and Blaze catches him. "— Woah!"
