"Protective Mother, Hopeful Father"
-"STOP FOLLOWING ME AROUND LIKE A LOST PUPPY, POTTER." ADHARA SNAPPED, TURNING AROUND. Harry merely grinned, "You finally noticed me. I've been following you for fifteen minutes trying to get your attention."
"Oh, I noticed you. I just ignored you."
"Rude." Harry grumbled, slightly glaring at her but only getting a sarcastic smile in return. "Christmas is only a few weeks away-" He started but was cut off.
Adhara frowned. "Yule." She corrected, but was ignored.
"-And your dad and everyone else wishes you to come."
"I already spend all holidays with my dad, Potter."
"I meant Sirius."
"Then, it's a no." She simply said and walked away, but he wasn't letting it go that easily.
"Adhara!" Harry exclaimed, looking desperate. "Please."
"Why didn't he invite me himself? Why's he sending his little godson over?" Adhara seethed, but her eyes held heartbreak, which he immediately caught.
"Because he knows that you're not comfortable talking with him yet."
"And how do you expect me to be spending Yule with him for two weeks?"
Harry frowned, not knowing why she wasn't getting it. "Because you guys can get more comfortable around each other during that time."
Adhara looked at him as if he was stupid. She concluded that he was, in fact, stupid. "No."
"Adhara, please." Harry immediately said, basically begging her. "Please. One chance. That's all he wants. Just one chance."
"Potter," Adhara started, glad that nobody was there. "I waited years for him. From the first nightmare I had to the first heartbreak, he never was there. Don't expect that to change anytime soon."
Harry watched as she walked away, mouth agape.
"I fucked up." A voice said behind him, making him turn around.
Sirius Black was standing there, looking at the spot his daughter was at a few seconds ago, holding the invisibility cloak in his hands. "And I just want to change it. I really do."
Harry frowned sadly, not liking the fact that his godfather was in so much pain. He watched as Sirius took one last look at the corridor she turned to and walked away, looking extremely heartbroken.
"Sirius?" Narcissa asked, looking shocked as the said man walked through the fireplace, dusting his clothes.
"Cissa.." Sirius breathed out, his pale skin and slightly puffy eyes making Narcissa frown in concern, "I'm sorry- so sorry."
Narcissa put down the teacup in her hands and stood up. "What's wrong, Sirius? You've cut off all contact with every Black since you were sixteen. Even me."
Sirius swallowed the lump in his throat that wasn't going away, "I know. Which is why I'm so sorry. I need help, Cissa. Please." His voice cracking.
Narcissa sighed sadly and pointed to a couch, motioning for him to sit. "What do you need help with?" She asked as he sat down.
"Adhara."
Narcissa's caring and worried face immediately turned into rage and disgust. "What do you want with her? Don't you dare get near my daughter, Sirius-"
"I never knew I had a daughter, Cissa." Sirius cut her off desperately. "I'll swear on my magic or whatever you want me to do. But I never knew. Cecilia never told me."
Narcissa looked shocked. "You never knew?"
"I never knew." He concluded, looking hopeful, "Please help me. Please."
"If she doesn't want you, then you just have to deal with it." Narcissa pointed out.
"But she doesn't know that I never knew." Sirius shot back immediately. "I'll do anything. Please."
Narcissa looked at her cousin for a few seconds, who was looking hopeful. "Fine." She said reluctantly, "I'll find a way for her to spend Yule at yours. But if she is uncomfortable for even a second, you have to let her floo back here."
Sirius immediately nodded. "Of course. Thank you."
"One more thing." Narcissa continued. "Draco has to be there with her. I'm sorry, Sirius, but quite frankly, I don't trust you too much." She bluntly admitted. "It is my first time talking to you in decades."
Sirius nodded, ignoring the pang in his chest. "Of course, Cissa."
"What?!" Adhara asked in shock. Draco had just walked into her dorm and explained how their parents weren't going to be at the manor, and they'd have to spend Yule with her biological father.
Draco nodded, throwing away the letter in his hands. "Yep."
Adhara frowned in anger and displeasure. "But I don't want to spend it with him! Why can't we stay here?"
Draco shrugged and looked at her in pity. "We both know why, Ara."
"But -" Adhara tried and sighed, "I don't want to become attached to him. Please."
Draco's eyes softened immensely as he rushed over and hugged her. "Let's just give him a chance, yeah? I'll be there with you through the whole way."
Adhara nodded reluctantly, knowing there was no way to get out of this. She didn't want to get attached to him. It would give Sirius the power to hurt her again, and Adhara did not expect the man to not leave her. He already did do that years ago.
