"An Event"
-"THE YULE BALL, IS FIRST AND FOREMOST, A DANCE." MCGONAGALL EXPLAINED TO THE SLYTHERINS AND GRYFFINDORS, MAKING THE BOYS GROAN AND THE GIRLS GIGGLE. "Joy." Adhara mumbled sarcastically. She has been sour the past few days, due to the little fight she had with Hermione, and her brother and bestfriend had noticed, but didn't point it out.
Adhara tuned out the rest of McGonagall's explanation, her eyes stuck on a certain muggleborn the whole time, who had been avoiding her for days. She didn't blame her, though, but she just wanted to explain that she was drunk and not in the right state of mind.
"Who're you going with?" Adhara questioned as she was walking around the castle with her brother.
"I dunno." He mumbled, in thought. "Why aren't you asking Granger, again?"
She sighed, but didn't reply, making him worriedly look at her. "Why aren't you asking Potter?" She eventually shot back.
Draco blushed immensely. "I don't like Potter-"
"Yeah. And I'm not gay."
Draco glared at her sarcastic tone. "Potter's straight."
"Oi, Harry!" Adhara exclaimed, making Harry, who was talking with James and Sirius not too far away from them, turn around. "What's your sexuality?!"
Harry looked thoughtful, not realizing Draco's blush, "I'm questioning. Why?"
"That's great, because I know a boy who'd love to go with you to the Yule ball."
"Who?" Harry asked, looking eager.
Adhara smirked and gave her brother a look. "My job here is done. You may proceed." She said and left.
"What's wrong, Addie?" Sirius questioned worriedly as he walked into the library and to his daughter.
Adhara looked up from her book, smiling slightly at the sight of Sirius. "Nothing. Why?"
Sirius frowned and sat down. "You think I don't notice? What's wrong?" He repeated knowingly.
She sighed as her eyes stopped on a certain muggleborn, who was too busy looking at a Bulgarian quidditch player. "I messed up."
"So did I."
Adhara looked back at him. "But you never fixed your mistake."
Sirius smiled. "You're talking to me now without telling me how much you hate me. I really believe I've fixed it."
"That's not the mistake I was talking about-"
"As much as I regret leaving Cecilia, I regret leaving you even more, Addie."
She sighed. She changed the subject and asked, "What do I do?"
"Ask her to the ball."
"Too late. Krum's asked her." She said bitterly as the said guy walked out of the library, leaving Hermione a blushed mess after their little talk.
Her father frowned. "You'll get her one day."
"Oh, I will. And i'll make sure I'll never lose her." She said lowly, but he didn't hear her.
Oh, how right she was.
For you should never take something away that already belonged to somebody, more importantly; a Black.
"So, did you ask Potter?" Adhara questioned, sitting infront of her brother in the great hall.
Draco smirked slightly, "Yes."
"And?"
"He said yes."
"Oh, thank Merlin." Adhara breathed out in relief, taking a sip of her juice. If her brother had gotten rejected, it would've been her fault at that point.
