"Hospital Wing"
-SIRIUS WAS WOKEN UP BY A FRANTIC-LOOKING HARRY. He groaned, then jerked right up when Harry slapped him. He turned to glare at him, then snapped out of it.
"Harry?" Sirius asked in confusion.
Harry put a finger to his lips and said, "Shh." And pointed to the sleeping Remus next to him. Then he said, "You've got to come with me."
Sirius shook his head and looked at the clock on the bedside table. "Harry, it's three forty-seven in the morning." He pointed out with a look, letting out a yawn.
"Adhara." Harry finally said, watching as Sirius immediately stood up and grabbed his wand and jacket, rushing out of the room. Harry followed him, closing the door behind them as quietly as he could to not wake Remus up.
"What happened?" asked Sirius as he rushed, not knowing where he was rushing to. He put on his jacket quickly.
"We were playing quidditch," started Harry, his eyes still widened in shock and horror over what happened, "and she just fell mid-air! Sirius, it wasn't an accident, we could tell!"
Sirius's eyes widened. "Where is she, now?"
"Hospital wing. Draco and I rushed her there after she fainted."
Rushing into the hospital wing with his godson, Sirius felt his heart drop at the sight of his daughter on the white bed. Dried blood was on her jaw, head, and under her nose. Her wrist was bent to a weird shape, and so were her legs.
Sirius felt his eyes tearing up, but pushed through it and walked over to her. He could only give Draco a nod. Words could not come out of his lips as he put a hand on his daughter's head, not caring about the blood that covered his hand now.
His daughter.
His Adhara.
A copy of him and Cecilia at the same time. In Adhara, him and Cecilia were still together.
Sirius saw the locket around her neck. He opened it with his thumb, letting out a small whimper when he saw the image inside it. He closed it immediately and put his lips to his daughter's forehead, kissing it softly.
Madam Pomfrey kept rushing around the hospital wing, finding potions and forcefully shoving it down Adhara's throat.
Adhara didn't realize at all. Her eyes were closed. And despite how horrible she seemed, she actually looked peaceful for once. Peace seemed to have found her in her faint state.
He was so busy looking at his daughter, he didn't even realize Harry was gone.
He only realized when the doors of the hospital wing burst open, and in came Snape with a pale-looking Harry, who seemed to have told him everything.
A hint of emotion passed through Severus Snape's eyes the second he saw his goddaughter on the bed.
Sirius was too weak to even scowl at the man. Instead, he whispered, "Who did this to her?"
Snape did not know. Harry did not know. Draco did not know.
Draco was too busy crying in Harry's arms, feeling too guilty to even look at his sister. He was letting out incoherent words, to which Harry would reassure him quietly with his kisses and comforting words.
"Professor Snape! There you are!" Hermione panted as she walked into the hospital wing, brows furrowing at everyone being there. "What's going on- ?" She tried to ask, but immediately became silent and froze in place when she saw.
Adhara.
Hermione let out a horrified gasp. No. It can't have been.
She took another step forward, her mouth still open in shock. It was Adhara.
She snapped out of it for a second and looked at the horrified-looking and silent Snape. "It was Alyssa Nott," she announced with a clenched jaw. "I caught her out ten minutes ago. I was searching for you to inform you."
Snape snapped out of it and looked away from his goddaughter, his eyes stopping on Hermione. He nodded slowly and turned around, leaving the hospital wing, on his way to inform Dumbledore and deal with Alyssa Nott.
"Addie," whispered Hermione finally getting closer to the fainted girl.
"Don't get close." Madam Pomfrey warned her, pouring another potion down Adhara's throat. "Sirius, let her go and go wash your hands."
Sirius took a step backwards and let her go, but did not wash his hands. He didn't even notice the now-dried blood on them.
They all looked at Adhara in shock when she opened her mouth and let out a word they didn't hear.
"What?" asked Sirius, brows furrowing as he took a step closer to the girl. "What did you say, Addie?"
Adhara mumbled something. Something in such a quiet voice, but he seemed to hear. He was the only one he heard.
He slowly turned to look at a confused and worried-looking Hermione.
Hermione could only listen.
Listen as Adhara, with closed eyes and not in the right state, opened her mouth for the third time, and in a voice they could finally hear, say, "Mione.."
Hermione froze in her place for one small moment before rushing over to her and taking the hand of the girl's. "I'm here, Addie." She whispered to the girl, both of her hands holding only one of Adhara's she would've held both, if not for the fact that Madam Pomfrey was busy healing the broken wrist of the other.
