"Storms"
-YULE HAD RETURNED. Adhara and Hermione hadn't talked since the night on the Astronomy tower, where the two ended up spending the night there asleep in each other's arms. The morning after was quite awkward, but Adhara had promised Hermione that she'd wait until the girl healed and found herself.
That explained her silence in the living room, where she and the Malfoy family were at. She decided to spend the Yule with the family that raised her, claiming to Sirius that she hadn't spent quiality time with them in a while. He understood.
"Is something on your mind, dear?" Narcissa asked her daughter, while her husband and son were in a conversation.
Adhara was going to shake her head, but stopped. She was about to say the truth. She was about to tell her mother all about her and Hermione. "No," she lied instead, going back to her thoughts.
Adhara's heart was a fragile thing, shattered into pieces too small to fit together again, or so she thought.
"Hm," mused Narcissa out loud, giving her a knowing look but let it go.
Lucius stopped talking to his son and turned to his daughter, a question in his mind. "Do the Blacks treat you well, Ara?" He asked.
Her brows furrowed at the random question. But Lucius was a worried parent. "Yes, actually." She answered, her lips quirking up for a moment. "They treat me perfectly."
Lucius nodded, satisfied by her answer.
"And how are you and Harry, Draco?" Narcissa joined in, her mouth curling into a smile of amusement when her son blushed.
"Fine," mumbled Draco, crossing his arms, as if his lips weren't threatening to give his true feelings away by curling upwards. But his true feelings were obvious.
Draco Malfoy was deeply in love.
During midnight that night, Adhara was sitting next to the window in her bedroom, watching the rain fall from the clouds in the sky.
She did not mind the sound of the thunder that was happening. In fact, she liked it. She liked the rain and the cold.
She looked back at the picture frame in her hand. Her fingers traced the glass that separated her fingers from the picture inside.
Again, she turned away and looked outside. The rain fell in sheets against the window, each droplet racing down the glass like the tears that threatened to spill from Adhara's eyes.
She hugged the picture frame to her chest, closing her eyes and letting out a sigh.
She let herself feel her feelings. She let herself cry, and let the tears from her eyes fall onto the glass on the picture frame. She let herself feel every emotion, so that she could work through them later on and make way for better and happier emotions.
She only hoped Hermione was doing the same.
