-YULE FELT SHORTER THAN USUAL. Soon enough, all the students were back at Hogwarts. Adhara, Draco, and Blaise were in the middle of eating dinner after a long day of classes, all three of them tired.

"Where's Pansy?" Adhara asked in confusion, noticing the empty space beside Blaise where Pansy should've been.

Draco pointed to Pansy, who was already walking to them, hand in hand with a Hufflepuff girl.

Adhara felt her lips quirking up, her heart feeling light and warm. She was extremely happy for Pansy. In fact, she celebrated Pansy's happiness as her own.

Pansy, having finally reached her friends, motioned towards the girl whose hand she was holding. "Guys, this is Hannah Abbott. My girlfriend."

Blaise let out a whistle, standing up and patting Pansy on the back. "I'm so happy for you, Pansy." He said, his expression mirroring the ones on the Malfoy siblings'.

"Hannah, this is Blaise. And this is Draco." Pansy motioned to the blond boy beside Adhara, then pointed to her finally. "And this is Adhara."

"It's so nice to meet you all." Hannah said with a genuine smile, shifting from one foot to another. She was obviously feeling discomfort from the glares she was receiving from the other Slytherins for being near their table.

"Don't mind them. Sit." Adhara immediately said, glaring at her housemates who were looking. They all looked away.

Hannah smiled again and did as she asked, sitting next to Pansy. She never let go of the girl's hand.

"So, Hannah, tell us all about yourself."

That night, Pansy and Adhara were in their shared dorm room

That night, Pansy and Adhara were in their shared dorm room. Pansy was busy taking out her clothes from her trunk, unpacking later than usual. A smile was etched on her face.

"You seem happier," pointed out Adhara as she looked at the girl, her lips quirking up when Pansy blushed.

"I am," replied Pansy curtly.

Adhara's smile faded away at the other girl's short answer. Finally, she said, "You haven't talked to me in weeks."

Pansy stopped what she was doing and let out a sigh. "I don't know what you mean," she lied immediately, avoiding eye contact as she sat down on her bed instead of unpacking.

Adhara's brows furrowed. "Pansy, you do know what I mean. What happened? Why have you been ignoring me?"

The other girl was quiet, a thoughtful look on her face. "Do you remember the night of the party?" She finally asked, rolling her eyes when Adhara shook her head. "Exactly. You were too drunk to remember."

Adhara's eyes widened at the possibility of what she could've done when drunk. Especially if it was with Pansy -

"We didn't." Pansy immediately shook her head after noticing the look on Adhara's face. The relief that passed through Adhara's face should've hurt her, but it only made her roll her eyes again. "No, we didn't shag, Ara. But you said some stuff."

She stood up from her bed and walked over to Pansy's, sitting down next to her. "What stuff?" She asked, genuinely confused.

How much had she drank that night?

Pansy was quiet for a moment. Then, she took a deep breath. "You said that you wished you could love me."

"I wish I could love you."

The other girl froze, her fingers right above the laying girl's ear. "What?" She asked in shock.

Adhara closed her eyes again and mumbled, slightly slurring her words together, "I wish— I wish I could— could love you. But I— I can't. I love her, but I—"

"What were you going to say, Adhara?"

The girl opened her cloudy eyes. She continued the sentence, "I know you would've treated me right." And closed her eyes once again, for the last time that night. However, she still continued in a whisper, even with closed eyes. "I wish I could love you."

When Pansy finished telling Adhara everything the girl had said while drunk, she pursed her lips at the expression on her friend's face.

Adhara had a look between shock and pain on her face. She genuinely did not remember saying all those stuff, but after Pansy told her, she could remember bits and pieces. She knew Pansy wasn't lying.

"I'm sorry," said Adhara finally, genuine regret in her voice. "I didn't mean to hurt you."

"Well, you did." Pansy snapped and stood up, continuing to unpack.

"Pansy, you're my best friend." Adhara stood and walked over to her, crossing her arms with a concerned frown on her face. "You met Abbott that night?"

Pansy nodded, her lips quirking up for a moment. "Yes," she said softly, looking at her friend. "In the middle of crying, I looked up and prayed for happiness to come my way. In less than a few minutes, happiness did come my way. It came my way in Hannah."

Adhara couldn't help it but smile, a proud glint in her eyes. She was happy that her friend moved on and found love, even if she was stuck in the same place. Stuck wanting the girl she lost.

"I'm so happy for you," whispered Adhara genuinely.

Pansy could see how much Adhara meant it. She could tell by her voice, and by the look in her eyes. So, she smiled back. "Thank you, Ara."
