"Love Potions?"
-HARRY SMILED CHEEKILY AS HIS POTIONS TUTOR SAT INFRONT OF HIM AT THE LIBRARY THE NEXT DAY WHEN CLASSES WERE FINALLY OVER. Adhara glared at him, "How do you keep getting worse at potions every damn year?"
Harry shrugged, "I dunno, but it's worth it to see you glare at me whenever Snape announces my grade to the class."
Adhara rolled her eyes and pulled out her potions book, Harry doing the same thing.
"Adhara." Harry pleaded as the said girl was stomping away from him, "Snape will surely want to kill me-"
"No more than I do." scoffed Adhara, still walking away as fast as her legs could take her.
Harry was right next to her, "It was just one mistake!"
He earned a look from the girl, making him gulp slightly. "You said 'add the unicorn hair'." She repeated what he had said.
"And?" Harry asked, not knowing what the problem was.
Adhara stopped and raised her eyebrows, "We were talking about poisons." He winced as he realized she was right, but she continued, "Unicorn hair in a poison, Potter? That would've exploded and melted your face off. Even would kill you if one drop of the potion got in your mouth."
"Yeah.." he mused. "I apologize."
Adhara pursed her lips and continued walking, "Sev would surely understand why I don't want to tutor an absolute imbecile like you."
"I'm not an imbecile!"
"I'd absolutely love to see you make a potion and not fail."
"Fine!"
They both stopped walking, "You'll make a potion with no mistakes whatsoever, without help from anybody?" Adhara asked, her voice filled with mocking.
Harry grimaced, "Now that you say it out loud..It doesn't sound like a very.. good.. idea-"
"Your ideas are never good!"
"Says the girl who wanted to kill me in order to get out of a lockdown!" Harry shouted, staring at his godsister's retreating form.
"Believe me, everybody would've had the same idea considering how annoying you were!" Adhara shouted back, not turning around, leaving the boy in a corridor filled with amused-looking students.
Harry scoffed. "Me? Annoying? Pft."
"That's debatable." A random Slytherin said, who was passing by, making Harry huff in disbelief.
Adhara frowned in confusion as she picked up a box that was on her bedside table. She opened it and frowned even deeper at the unusual smell.
It smelt like strawberries and vanilla.
Adhara shook her head in disbelief as she realized what this was. Chocolate covered with love potions.
The door opened, making her turn around. Alyssa walked in and stopped, "Did you eat it?"
Adhara raised an eyebrow, "No. However, it seems like you know what it is."
Alyssa put on a confused expression "I know that it is chocolate." She said with a small chuckle.
Adhara hummed in fake agreement and pulled out a chocolate. "Then maybe you should have a bite. After all, it would be rude of me not to share. Especially since you're new to this lovely school."
The blonde girl looked slightly panicked, but put on a smile. "I'm allergic."
"To chocolate?"
"To peanuts." Alyssa replied.
Adhara looked at her thoughtfully and then looked back at the chocolate in her hand, "I didn't say anything about peanuts."
"It's-" Alyssa cleared her throat, then continued, "I could smell it."
Adhara hummed and put the chocolates back, throwing them in the nearest bin. She looked at Alyssa in thought, who merely smiled and laid down on her bed.
"So, why have you come back to Britain if your family has been living in America for years?" Adhara asked, actually looking curious.
"We decided it was time to come back," replied Alyssa as Adhara sat down on her bed across the room.
"And how's Hogwarts treating you?"
"Better than Ilvermorny." sighed Alyssa, explaining when Adhara looked a bit confused, "They don't really like British purebloods. Mostly because the families have been death eaters in the past."
Adhara looked uncomfortable. "If you say so."
Alyssa hummed, and asked, "Was Beauxbatons better than Hogwarts?"
"How'd you know I used to attend Beauxbatons?"
"Pansy and I had been talking about random things when we were walking around the castle."
Adhara nodded. "Makes sense." She mumbled, "Beauxbatons was fine, but a bit too.. pompous. I prefer Hogwarts if I'm being honest."
"Hmm." mused Alyssa, "Were they accepting of your sexuality? Because Ilvermorny certainly wasn't of mine."
Adhara frowned, "Of course they were, but there were a few who would try anything to bring me down. Not that it worked. Why would Ilvermorny not be accepting of yours?"
"Well, I'm bisexual. I came out only to one person, who was my best friend at the time, and she immediately stopped being my friend and outed me. She was very popular, so everyone just followed her lead."
"That must've been horrible." Adhara said with a bit of sympathy and a frown. "Well, in this school you've got nothing to worry about because there are more gays than straights."
Alyssa let out a chuckle. "That's lovely."
