I watched as my wife laid, covered under the blanket and soon after, I noticed the pace of her breathing was now steadied , meaning that she was now asleep and because she was, I could now leave.

So, Exhaling, I put my phone away and proceeded to stand on my feet however, my actions were quickly interrupted by the ringing of a cell phone.

"!RING!" "!RING!" It went, aloud, And my gaze returned to the sleeping woman as she tossed a little from the sound of the ringing phone. So I paused and, as quickly as I could, removed it from my pocket and answered to silence the ringing.

I silently cleared my throat as my fingers tapped the green icon that had appeared on it all while my eyes remained focused on her. However, once I had realized that her tossing and turning had stopped, I exhaled in relief and soon after, the sound of a familiar voice on the other end of the line had caught my attention.

"S-Sir?" Says the voice of one of my men. "Are you there?!"

My gaze was finally drawn away from her and averted towards the phone that I held. After clearing my throat for a second time, I answered.

"Marcus,"I greeted.

"Sir!" exclaimed Marcus "The report has arrived!", he started.

At his words, I exhaled once more, and knowing very well that this report would take some time, I decided to return to my seat.

"Speak" I ordered once I had taken a seat. And Soon after, a breath was heard over the screen, followed by Marcus's voice.

"Mr. Wang...will be attending tomorrow's meeting!" He reported but then paused, waiting for a word from me, However, I remained silent and instead, waited for him to continue.

Marcus then proceeded after noticing my silence.

"As you had requested, we conducted an investigation and discovered several explosives in the basements of the restaurant...the very resturant you'll be attending tomorrow" He exhales deeply.

"Sir, I believe it would be best if you do not attend this event. I'm guessing this is a set-up intended to get you killed! and..." He continued, his voice rising slightly, and to my surprise, I found myself looking over to where my wife was sleeping, where I noticed that she was now tossing and turning again and for some unknown reason, my jaw clenched.

"... and the best—"

"Lower your f'cking voice" I suddenly found myself saying in sudden anger and a brief pause was heard over the phone.
