The doctor had turned up and their mother had taken him upstairs to the bedroom to check out Addy's back. Beca and Emily had remained in the kitchen picking at the food they made. Which hadn't been too bad.
"She knows." Emily broke the silence. Beca knew what she was talking about.
"So..." Beca says completely unfazed, while Emily is still freaking out.
"What do you mean so..."
"We didn't do anything." Beca says calming and Emily questions if she did know what she was talking about.
"But-"
"Emily I said we didn't do anything!" Beca said looking at Emily seriously now. If Emily starts running her mouth then this would be all over. They could carry this on with no one knowing anything was wrong, but it would involve her not saying anything.
"We didn't do anything?" Emily questioned, fully well knowing they did.
"Yes well done." Beca said going back on her phone kept busy, while Emily kept repeating it in her head over and over again. If you say something enough times, can it become true? She hoped so.
Upstairs the doctor had begun looking at Addy's back. Checking her temperature, blood pressure and everything else. Stacie had remained by Addy's side. While their mother had closed the door and was standing inside staring with a glass of wine in her hand. After he had finished looking at her back she went over to their mother and began whispering.
"It doesn't look good. She needs stitches. She has a bad infection and needs fluids as she is so dehydrated. Also antibiotics to help overcome the infection. You eldest has done a good job of keeping the back clean. That will need to continue. Hopefully with the antibiotics and the stitches it should start to go down." The doctor finished.
"So, get on with doing what you need to do. Have you got everything here?"
"Are we sure we can't go into the doctors, I think she will heal faster there. I could-"
"I paid you to come here. High prices I may add, for you to do what you needed to do. You work here or not at all. You know the deal hasn't changed. Same as it's always been." Their mother was annoyed, she may have gone too hard on her daughters back. She wanted them to learn a lesson not cause her to be paying out money and wasting everyone's time.
"Yes I can do it here. I will put the drip in now and it will be in for an hour and then need to be removed. Which I will come back to do. I will also come back in two days to see how she's doing. It's going to take at least a week or two for her to be in better health but I believe it will be more with the extent of her injuries."
"Do what you have to do!" Their mother left the room and the doctor excused himself to go and get the stuff from his car.
"You're gonna be okay, see? This may hurt the next part but remember it's for your own good. And hopefully you can start eating Pizza again." Stacie laughed trying to lighten the mood. Addy just wanted to sleep. She was so tired and weak. They could do whatever they would make her feel better. Addy lent against Stacie her head was just so heavy. She didn't know how much longer she could last.

Earlier on in the day. Miss Ranyon had messaged Miss Holmes asking if they wanted to go out for dinner after school. She had agreed and that is where they sat now. They started chatting out casual things first and then started talking about their personal life and getting to know each. It was then Miss Ranyon couldn't not ask any longer.
