Addy walked into English with Morgan and luckily the teacher was nice, even though she had been late to her lesson the first day because of the fight but still seemed to be friendly with her anyway.

"You all are going to hate me but we are going to do a test today. Just want to see where all of you guys are and I could have done it on the first day but I was being nice." Miss Ranyon said as she handed out the papers.

Addy stared down at the paper and all the words seem to blur together and merge and Addy wiped her eyes and tried to look again but it seemed to be getting worse. Addy tried to answer the questions but it was difficult. She looked around at everyone writing a lot for each, then she looked back down at hers and it seemed pathetic. Addy didn't know what to write to make it longer so she doodled on her paper until she the class was finished.

"Sorry it was a boring class today but I just need to know what to help you guys on and I hope it wasn't to hard for you." She stopped to look at Addy, who she had been looking at the whole lesson who seemed to be struggling. "Come put your papers on my desk then you can go."

Addy got up and turned to look at Morgan.

"I can take your paper up for you." Addy asked Morgan you smiled and thanked her as Addy put Morgans on top of hers so Miss Ranyon couldn't see hers.

"Are you okay Addy?" Miss Ranyon asks and Addy nods in response and grabs her bag and leaves. On Addy's and Morgan's way out Miss Ranyon pointed at Addy to Morgan with a confused face asking what was wrong silently as Morgan shrugged giving her honest answer.

As all the children left Miss Ranyon's room she began marking the papers as she had a free lesson next. She had given them an easy paper which it seemed to have worked as everyone  had done really well the extract of the text that she had given was easy using plain language and easy enough to understand before they started studying a text. Everyone was doing well so far, yes, there could be improvements but overall good.

She had just finished markings Morgan's, which was pretty good, the she began looking through Addy's. The answers were small and not very good. The words were spelt wrong and the interpretation of the text seemed like she hadn't read the thing at all. Some of the letters were back to front and she didn't seem to notice. Miss Ranyon stared at it wondering what to do next. The drawing was amazing and detailed and seem to show the pain she felt during the exam, Miss Ranyon guessed. She needed to see the extent of the problem before doing anything but what she did know she needed to talk to Addy. She also wanted to see if she was having trouble with any other classes.

RE: Addy Mitchell

Hi Charlotte,

I was wondering if Addy seems to be having any trouble in class with any of the classwork. She just at a easy test I gave them first lesson and looking through it know it seemed as if she struggled a lot. Also, when you see her at tutor could you ask her to come and find me some point today.

Thank you,

Leah Ranyon

RE: Addy Mitchell

Hi Leah,

She did seemed to be struggling in maths but when i confronted her about it she said she could get it over time, if she worked on it. I just I will give it to her but if she didn't improve then I would tutor her or something. I am giving out homework today and I can tell you how she does after. Have you talked to other teachers about the problem?

RE: Addy Mitchell

I haven't talked to her other teachers, I know many teachers are fond of the Mitchell's and unfortunately for Addy they take it out in her, so I an weary of asking. I am friends with her history teacher but they haven't had a lesson yet, so will ask after her first lesson. I think we should just keep an eye on it and if it continues maybe I was thinkng of getting her tested for dyslexia.

RE: Addy Mitchell

Yeah, probably, I hadn't thought about her maybe being dyslexic but that is a good idea. I don't know if we are rushing things as its only the first day but definitely keep an eye on it. Shame about the teachers as she is a good kid as well. I better get back to teaching my lesson but I will remember to tell her to go see you.

Miss Ranyon leaned back as the bell for her next class went, she liked Addy and Miss Ranyon felt weird about wanting to protect and help Addy but she just wanted whats best for her student.
