Addy stared in front of the mirror, it had been a week now since her mother decided to redo her room and she had decided to stay in Stacie's room, with her permission, however all of her stuff had been put in a spare room while it was destroyed. She hadn't been allowed in to clean her sisters or mother had to do it because when they started she couldn't move and two because now their mother was worried she would hide something from her. But it seemed to be very little felt of who Addy was felt in that room or in the girl herself.

Her mother had destroyed all her paints and pencils and ripped us sketch books and canvases and gone through her school books ripping up drawing were done inside. That was the day Addy felt her soul had been ripped from her body. All the time she spent, it was the only thing she felt truly good at and it was taken away from her. Many tears and been shed and set her healing back a couple of days as she was withheld food as punishment from their mother for two days and had created a nasty cut across her face when Addy tried to stop her while making her watch every part. Luckily the cut was now held other than a faint mark you could barely notice. And all the girls had Stacie room that night to try and calm down Addy who ended up crying herself to sleep in Stacie's arms. Now she wasn't allowed to draw or paint or anything other than art class and without art Addy didn't quite know who she was.

It had been 2 weeks since Addy had been at school and was finally given the all clear to go back and also she had been well enough to stand all day, so know on her first day back which felt like the first day of school all over again. Stacie had gone back a couple of days before but both girls had done all the work that was sent to them, so they shouldn't be behind on any work.

Stacie came up behind Addy and stared at her in the mirror.
"You ready?" Stacie asked putting her arms on her shoulders.
"No but I will go." Addy said sighing. Stacie embraced her sister and kissed her on her head.
"You are going to be fine. If it's too painful go to the office. Our mother has at least told the school that you have been very ill." Stacie said knowing that her sister would appreciate knowing that she may need to have an escape route. Addy just nodded. She was less concerned about her getting sick again but more about where she left the school and the people. She knew that she would be corner by Miss Holmes and Miss Ranyon. Plus she hadn't seen and barely spoken to her friends.

She took Stacie's hand and went downstairs with her and into the car. She meant her sister there who all smiled and let her sit in the front next to Stacie. Even though she hadn't been as clingy as before she still hadn't liked the idea of being further that 10 feet.

"Remember, you have no P.E for a while and don't lean back in your chair too much. Drink lots of water and I'll see you at break." Stacie said when they got to the school and had parked the car. Addy took a deep breath, she didn't think she was ready but she had no choice. Emily and Beca had kissed her on the head and left the car. Stacie continued to sit with Addy in the car for a moment they had got to school early so they knew they had time.

"What if I can't do it?" Addy whispered holding onto Stacie.

"You can. You did it the last couple of days, when I came in. You have to get through today and tomorrow and then it's the weekend again. Okay?" Addy nodded and got out the car. Stacie let Addy walk in alone. She knew if she didn't she would be clinging to Stacie all day. She needed to build a little distance. She knew after school would be a different matter. Unlike her sisters Stacie hadn't yet been trapped in the dinning room doing homework she was able to see Addy and look after her. Even though she knew that would change now Addy was at school again. And In the last three days when she had arrived home Addy hadn't let go of Stacie. Stacie watched Addy walk through the gates and then got out of the car.

Addy had walked in nervous rubbing her hands together. She was completely different to who she was when she was last here, even different from when she started school. But she was gonna stick with herself. She didn't need the popularity she needed to work on school. And having close friends was better than having many. Even if the close friends had to also be kept at arms length.

Addy let her body take her to Miss Holmes classroom and tried not to let her brain get in the way. She was nervous. She had messed up last time they saw each other and then caused unnecessary suspicion about them. She got to the door and paused before reaching up and knocking on the door. She pulled down her hoodie and walked in.

"Addy you're back! You feeling better?" Miss Holmes said standing up from her desk and sitting on one of the students desk closer to the door were Addy had closed it and lingered in front.

"Um, yeah a lot." Addy said, she was better but would have felt better if she could have started on the following Monday rather than the end of the week.

"I'm glad to hear, I got all the work you did. Very good of you to catch up on everything." Miss Holmes said, Addy was barely listening thinking of what to say in her head, when a knock on the door and it opening brought her out of it.

"Hey I was wondering if- Oh Addy glad you're back!" Miss Ranyon walked in. Just Addy's luck having to do it while being out numbered at least she wouldn't have to go through this twice. She just needed to get it over with.

"I'm sorry." Addy blurted out and everyone in the room stared at her.

"I'm sorry for being a dick. I...um... didn't know how to work out who I was meant to be and then all of the pressure got to me and I turned into someone I didn't like. I shouldn't have been rude to you two. All you have tried to do is help me, and I thew it back in your face. I knew what I was doing was wrong and felt wrong and I was doing it anyway. The least I can do is attend the detentions I had but I understand if you want to add more." Addy finished looking up from her hands into her teachers eyes.

"Addy, next time you want to go off the rails maybe talk to someone first. And I can't speak for both of us but you don't have to do my detentions, if you promise to never do that again." Miss Holmes said.

"I can't promise I can't lose my temper sometimes I can be a dick-"

"We can can sometimes but it is what we do after is also important." Miss Ranyon chipped in.

"I will do my best to be better and I will do the detentions. I think it's only fair." Both teachers nodded.

"What about the after school sessions?"

"I wasn't lying when I said I couldn't come anymore. I'm sorry I would if I could but my mom doesn't want me too."

"I can talk to her, try and convince her." Miss Ranyon said.

"It won't change anything but I promise I will get my grades up. I can do it, I swear." Addy said stepping back to leave.

"Is that what you thought we cared about, getting your grades up? Because Addy it was more than that. We want you to be able to learn and enjoy school. We wanted you to feel comfortable around us and -" the school bell rang cutting Miss Holmes off. Miss Ranyon left saying they could talk more about it later and Miss Holmes let her sit in her seat. She now faced her first day at school ahead of her. She had to make amends with friends she hadn't spoken too in weeks and couldn't even talk at break as she was on detention. But maybe it was going to be good to have somewhere to hide.
