Beca was leaning against the car by the time people were coming out of school. Addy and Emily made it out first. Addy looked miserable as the exhaustion hit while Emily seemed pleasantly okay. Stacie started walking towards the car unknowing of how hard Beca's heart was thumping and she was hoping that her heart wouldn't come out of her chest. As Stacie smiled unlocking the car Chloe ran past her and leapt into Beca's arms.

"I tried. I swear I talked to her but Mrs Warrens wouldn't listen to me. I'm sorry. I don't agree with what Aubrey said. Please don't be mad. I tried. I'm sorry." Chloe cried into Beca's arms. Beca hesitated but then wrapped her arms around her girlfriend.

"It's okay, it's not your fault. I shouldn't have done it. It's okay." Beca said, Emily and Addy looked confused but decided to get in the car. Addy immediately put her head on the window and closed her eyes but still tried to listen to what was happening outside.

"What happened you didn't come back today?" Chloe said pulling away slightly.

"I got suspended," Beca mumbled.

"YOU WHAT?" Stacie yelled, she was furious.

"I'll explain in the car," Beca said and Stacie wanted to say more but held her tongue to let Beca talk to Chloe.

"Be quick!" Stacie rolled her eyes and got in the car.

"I'll see you Monday." Beca kissed Chloe.

"Monday?" Chloe said looking sadly at Beca. Now she wasn't going to be speaking to Aubrey she never felt so alone. Beca sighed and put her bag in the car. She then took off her hoodie and gave it to Chloe.

"I'm not mad at you," Beca kissed Chloe one more time and then got into the car. She sighed and turned to see Stacie staring her down.

"What did you do?" Stacie said through gritted teeth.

"I may have slapped Aubrey and then got into a fight with her," Beca said.

"Why?! OMG, we are so screwed! What could she have possibly said?!" Stacie said putting her head on the steering wheel before she started driving the car. Being late would only make this situation 1000 times worse.

"She brought up mom and dad. Saying that I had issues because my dad wasn't there to hit me. So my mom does it instead, and if she would she would make be black and blue. And I just snapped. I shouldn't have done it, I know but I wasn't thinking-"

"You can say that again," Stacie sighed. There was no reason to get more mad at Beca she knew she was going to get it bad enough when she got home.

"If this was any other time, a time when our mother didn't decide to be a full-time parent I would be less worried," Stacie said hoping that the evening wasn't going to be complete hell, but she wasn't feeling confident.

As Stacie pulled into the driveway Emily nudged Addy to open her eyes and act not tired as that would only make it worse. As they got out of the car the door wasn't opened by their mother which seemed even more terrifying. They went straight to the dining room and decided it was best to begin work. Stacie used the opportunity to help Addy as she guessed that their mother was yet to arrive at the house. She pointed out which bits were wrong on her work from yesterday and managed to explain to Addy what was expected from her in the homework she needed to complete. Everyone heard the front door slam and held their breath this was going to be bad. All the girls continued trying to do work as their mother walked in with a bottle of wine which was already open. Stacie only assumed that this wasn't her first drink as she could smell the alcohol on her and could only hope she got a taxi home and wasn't driving. There was a very long awkward silence.
