Emily was mid way through cleaning Addy's room when she got a text from Ali saying she was outside. She left the room leaving Beca in there alone saying she will be back in a moment. She went downstairs walking down the long corridor. Addy room was furthest away from the staircase that was near the front door. There was the second staircase at the other end of the hallway near Addy's room but that would consist of her walking through the whole house. As she walked past the guest room where Addy and Stacie were still sitting she heard the TV on, indicating that Addy hadn't gone to sleep. And that the bathroom door was open and smelt like puke. She reached over and closed the door before running down the stairs. Making a mental note to tell Ali not to use that bathroom.

She reached the front door and there sood Ali who pulled them straight in a hug.
"Not to be mean but you kinda smell." Ali said, pulling away.
"Yea I was tidying Addy's room and it smells of puke. Don't use the guest bathroom either use mine or the one downstairs is cool. I just have to finish tidying quickly but if you want you can chill in my room. I'll help you with your bags." Emily said a lot quicker than normal. She was nervous but didn't know why.
"Chill out dude. Why are you so nervous?" Ali said, bringing her bags into the house. One full of her school stuff and a duffel bag with clothes for tomorrow. Emily let out a laugh.
"I am fine. Just gonna clean and then change." Emily says running up the stairs and Ali following Ali went into her room and Emily to finish cleaning.

"Go hang out with your friend, don't worry about finishing it's nearly done anyway." Beca said as Emily walked back into the room. Emily stopped. She was still mad with Beca and just letting her get out of cleaning wasn't going to change everything like that.
"Thankyou." Emily mumbled and nodded going to leave before Beca stopped her.
"I'm sorry. For all the shit that went down I know we're not going to talk about it now but we will. And you haven't got a project with Ali have you?" Beca finished Emily smiled and shook her head.
"No I haven't." Emily left and walked into her own room quickly smelling her shirt and jeez she needed a shower.

After she got out of her quick shower Ali was sitting on her bed.
"What's up with Addy?" Ali said putting her phone aside and looking at Emily not moving from comfortable spread out on Emily's bed.
"She is just sick. Not fully sure why." Em said collapsing next to her best friend.
"Sureee"
"What do you mean by that?" Emily was lying on the end and now Emily leaning over the top looking down on her friend.
"I've known you for so long. And even though you're older sisters are more to themselves nowadays you all do this sketchy look to the left thing mid lie. Or you raise your eyebrows like you want the world to challenge you that you're lying. I'm surprised more people haven't questioned you lot." Ali finished looking at Emily raising her eyebrows. Emily responded by rolling her eyes.
"Fine you may have a point, but I can't tell you." Emily sighed knowing that there was nothing her friend could do about it anyway.
"FOOD!" Beca called from downstairs.

The girls ate downstairs as her sisters were all upstairs. They chatted casually as they ate alone. After watching a movie in the movie room the girls headed upstairs back to Emily's room.
"Wanna play truth or dare?" Ali said after the girls had sat for a while in silence on their phones. Emily was on her bed while Ali sat on one of the chairs that was springy and round.
"We haven't played that since we were...like 9." Emily said not looking up from her phone.
"Aww come on what have you got to hide you scared?" Ali had said teasing Emily it was something for the girls to do rather than sit in silence.
"Fine. Truth or Dare?" Emily said putting her phone down.
"Truth."
"Other than me, order my sisters favourite to least." Emily said after a second to think, not really sure what to say.
"Addy then Stacie last is Beca." Ali said all too quickly like she had thought about it on previous occasions.
"Why?" Emily asked curiously.
"Nah uh. You will have to save that for next time. My turn Truth or Dare?... Come on I know you want to choose Dare." Ali said taughtingly.
"Truth." Emily said all too smugly. Which was received with an eye roll.
"Tell me a secret about your family. I know it's vague. But I don't know about them. Your family life, mom or dad. Let's be real. I know more about your Dad than your mom and mentioning your dad is more of a death sentence than your mom. So I give you room to choose." Ali finished.

She was right. Emily has mentioned her dad the amount of times you can count on one hand. Emily knew bits and pieces about her father from what she had picked up from her sisters. He paid the phone bills, works at Apple so they get new items as soon as they come out. Sends more money on their birthday than he normally does. But other than that, she doesn't know. She could never bring it up to her mother. And Stacie is also not a source who enjoys the conversation of her father. When the girls were younger he used to visit every now and then for a couple of years. Enough that Emily could remember his face and some of the things they did. But too few that Addy had no memory of him whatsoever.

"I'm...scared of my mother." Emily said after a thought. It was true. And she can only hope that there is no follow up question. And Ali knew this was big enough for Emily to share not to question. And if she was being honest. She already knew that but it was different hearing it from her.
"I'm stepping things up. Dare." Ali said after a moment. She had agreed silently with Emily about being scared of her mother. She was a terrifying person; one interaction was enough for Ali to last a lifetime. Sadly Ali didn't know half of it.
"I dare you to jump in the pool with your clothes on." Emily said wondering if she would do it as it was already 10:00 and the pool would be freezing.
"Sure."

The girls went downstairs quietly giggling all the way down.
"Addy I spent the most time with, she hangs out with us more often and she is funny. Stacie used to take us places when we were younger and let us run wild and I think I would be doing her dirty by putting her last. And Beca sometimes scares me. Too cool then I'll ever pull off." Ali explained on the way down seeing Emily was still thinking about it. As soon as they stepped outside Ali ran and jumped in as the cold water crashed against her body not being blocked by the thin layer of clothing covering her. Leaking in between and an open gap until it filled everywhere as she let out a yelp of coldness. As nowhere was untouched. Emily stood behind giggling not thinking straight and gave a hand to Ali to help her out but was also dragged in feeling the same cold sensation. Both girls splashing water at each other giggling, let out a sign of relaxation. Emily forgot for a second about everything, stress, pressure, all gone for a second to realise that this would be something Stacie wouldn't approve which made her love it more.

The gap between the girls closed as they went to where they could touch the bottom of the pool. Suddenly Emily was back on Ali's bed with her hot breath against her lips.
"Truth or Dare" Ali whispered.
"Dare."
"I dare you to kiss me!" Ali whispered, looking at Emily's face for a reaction. Emily hadn't kissed anyone before so was nervous that she would do it wrong. Then while she was getting caught up with that forgot the fact that she was asked to kiss her best friend. A GIRL! But did she want to. Emily questioned. Did she want to kiss her?

Before she could have any more time to think she moved her lips closer and kissed her best friend. She closed her eyes and felt her friends soft lips crash against her. Something felt wrong but at the same time like everything fit into place. As she leaned away, She kept her eyes closed as she smiled. She opened to Ali's the same. Before she could have time to think she leaned into the kiss as she lifted her legs around Ali's waist and arms around her neck, whose back was resting against the edge. Ali responded by deepening the kiss further. This was now more than just a dare.
