Beca walked out of the room and immediately grabbed Chloe's hand as she was waiting outside the classroom like Beca thought. They started walking in silence as Chloe was half on her phone letting Beca lead her.
"I'm just going to grab food, do you need anything or want anything?" Beca asks, stopping for the first time still holding onto her hand.
"Umm no, I have brought lunch with me." Chloe smiles, sending Beca to go get food and meet her back there. Even though Chloe didn't want anything, Beca still brought Chloe some extra food just in case she changed her mind.
Beca brought Chloe to the back of the school where there was a gate that led to the staff car park but also a grass area where no one really came back this far.
"So this is your secret hideout. Where do you take all the girls?" Chloe laughed.
"Yea- wait I mean no." Beca was clearly distracted but Chloe still found it funny that the brunette was so concerned about making Chloe feel special. But Chloe knew she wasn't the first but she hoped she would be the last. They both began eating in awkward silence. Chloe didn't know what to say to Beca because she can tell she was still worried about her sister. She didn't know how to bring up the situation at all with Beca. She had only been with Beca for a short period of time and she knew Beca was never very open or one to get emotional so seeing Beca this vulnerable in the first place.
"Sorry about having to move our date. I promise we will still do it." Beca said, still eating her food.
"It's okay. I think you have a decent reason to move it." Chloe paused before continuing,
"How are you dealing with it, the whole situation?"
"She is getting better, the doctor came around at last, last night." Beca hadn't listened to the conversation and answered what she assumed most people would ask.
"Beca I asked about you? How are you feeling?" Chloe stopped and was looking into Beca's eyes with her hand on her arm. Beca looked back confused.
"I'm, I don't know. Worried I guess. My mother is back to help." Beca says putting her food down as well.
"Back?"
"Well she works a lot so she isn't home. I mean, having her back is a lot. It puts a lot of pressure on us and she is something else."
"She makes you nervous?"
"Something like that."
—-------------------------
At home Stacie had left Addy asleep. She hadn't moved since the night before and was good as it meant she got sleep but she still looked very pale and she would have to wake Addy up as soon as she needed meds and to clean her back but for the time beginning it was best to let her sleep. Stacie had managed to come out of the room and get her laptop and some work books so she could at least start her school work she had been missing. She had already been warned by her mother that she would be expecting to see the work she had completed. She hoped if managed to try and do enough of her own work her mother would go easy on Addy as there was no way she could be doing any of her own work even though her mother will still expect her to try. It had been a couple of hours of Stacie working before Addy had any movement at all. She groaned and rolled over to face Stacie but her eyes remained closed. Stacie looked up from her books and decided this was the sign that it was time to wake her up for a little bit.
"Good morning princess" Stacie said despite it nearly being mid day. All that was responded to was a grunt. A weak one at that still.
"It is past time that we clean your back and you take your meds so I am gonna need you to wake up please." Addy opened her eyes and looked at Stacie before struggling to sit up. She learnt forward not evening attempting to put any weight on her back.
"What are you doing?" Addy asked weakly looking at everything laid out on the tray table that was pulled over the bed.
"School work. I got to get it done at some point especially as Mother will probably won't look at it later."
"Did you bring my work in?"
"No, you will be resting still."
"But if she checks it later and I haven't done it I will be in trouble."
"I will tell her that you weren't well enough because you're not. You can barely sit up let alone keep your eyes open. I think mother realised how bad of a state you are in. We will do it together before you get back to school but you won't be going back any time soon, definitely not tomorrow. So let's go drink lots of water, take your meds and clean your back."
